Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the car...
Sat Aug 14 2004

I'm not happy. I'm not yet ready to admit to being mad, right now I'm going with not happy.

I got in the Mazda this morning to run some errands. About 2 miles from home, as I made a left turn, the Mazda died. I was going fast enough to coast into a nearby parking space, popped it into neutral and tried to re-start it.

No luck.

I put it in park, took a deep breath and gave it another go. It didn't.

Ironically it stalled and was parked only about 50 feet from where it died almost exactly to the hour a week ago.

Did I mention I'm not happy?

I now again need to wait until Monday and once again have the damn thing towed to the mechanic to sink even more non-existent money into it.

Ok, thinking about the money part of it does send me into the mad category.

I'm really thinking I need to just fix the damn thing with a sledge hammer. Or maybe a chain saw? Naw, it would ruin the chain saw.

Oh well, the Mazda dying gave a chance to get in a 2 mile walk today. I can file that under the silver lining scenerio.

Oh man, that's really a bummer about the car. I hope that it can get fixed cheaply and for longer than a week this time! Good luck with it . . .

I went thru a summer like that with our previous vehicle. It would die every time I went to Beaverton and then not start again for at least eight hours. The mechanic never did find the problen, but Mark finally figured it out. It turned out to be the o rings in the fuel injectors. When they got hot they would leak and allow gas to flood the engine. Of course this only happened if I was twenty or more miles from home. Boy how I came to hate that car. :)
