Choose Your Reality

I am shocked frankly, that an entire month has gone by since my last entry.

But on the other hand it fits right in with the general condition I have observed among all my friends and family, that no one knows what day it is. And sometimes even accurately naming the month can produce momentary amnesia. We all suffer from it. And I’m not even trying to be funny.

It’s a THING.

After Hen’s Rest was completed, I turned my energies to my household and yard and spent at least three weeks in an absolute frenzy of fall housecleaning and major rearranging and repair of anything that came into my consciousness. It it was broken, it got repaired. If it was no longer useful, it got disposed of by donating or by throwing out. I knew I was deep in the throes of OCD one day when I found myself decalcifying the little screen on my kitchen faucet.

I eventually worked myself to a standstill. I then spent a few days wandering around aimlessly, marveling at the order I had created in my little corner of the world, but not knowing quite what do do with myself now.

But new yard and garden chores eventually presented themselves and I tackled those too. Now I’m just puttering by moving plants here and there and I’m hoping to plant some bulbs this week. And we are waiting and praying for rain. Our drought is so profound at this point, there are no words for it. It’s astonishing in its severity.

Of course then there’s the circus in the outside world that works its way into my daily thoughts, but you know me, for a long time now I have avoided the ‘current events’ category in the game of trivial pursuit in my little corner of the internet.

In many ways, I don’t want to be one more voice blathering away about what I think should be happening. But on the other, we DO seem to be at a major crossroads. Not only in America, but all over the world.

I heard something today on the Ruben Report on You Tube that caught my attention though. He was saying that depending on where you seek out your information about what is going on in the world, you will be living in two entirely different realities. I think he is absolutely right.

Unfortunately in the near future, one of those realities is going to implode.

I have no idea what that’s going to look like.

While I was thinking about that, this verse from Deuteronomy came to mind:

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.”

And of course, depending on which reality you are living in, those words may mean completely different things to you. This is what we are dealing with today. It’s big. It’s important.

Choose wisely.

  1. It baffles me how different perceptions of the same reality can be so diametrically opposed.
