Our weather has been strange to say the least not anything like winter used to be but I will take it. Last Saturday in Butler they has ice carving show, it was great just about freezing temps and really sunny that kept the ice from melting I have a ton of pictures but for some reason I can’t upload them I try but I just keep getting a message saying the uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/blogs.dir/41/files/2020/02. I don’t know I will keep messing with it I guess

At least with the decent weather I have been able to get my walking time in usually I walk 4 miles on trail it is still kind of muddy to have not been out on my new bike yet waiting for dryer trail, right now my weight loss has stalled hopefully it is just temporary they say you can work through a plateau like this I will keep working on it though I am down total 24 pounds not a lot but am getting there

That’s all for now I love retirement

when I was younger like living at home I never had a nice bike I just had an old hand me down from my aunt so was stuck with piece of junk girls bike which always was broken and I never had money to fix it nor did my parents, I could never ride the neighborhood with everybody else my older brother always had a nice bike never understood that but whatever I remember my neighbor got a brand new really nice bike for Christmas I was so jealous I asked for a new bike and was told I was rude and selfish so just did without, I have been walking the trails lately for health and weight loss and always see people riding nice bikes and again I am jealous sooo

I went and go myself a new bike, have to pick it up tomorrow as it needed serviced and prepped trail is still a little wet and muddy but soon I will be out there with my brand new bike can’t wait, I am hoping this will help even more with my weight loss.

I don’t remember winters being this mild might just be that weather changing hope it keeps up as I despise winter and snow and cold, LOL maybe I should have moved, I don’t know why maybe my roots are in Pennsylvania so I just stayed I will manage.

weight loss is keeping on track I am at 237.4 down 5 since last entry I am noticing a difference so it keeps me motivated I didn’t walk today was snowing and cold just didn’t want to go out in that crap and again real cold tomorrow but Saturday, Sunday and Monday look good for it. i brought in the last of my wood I will burn the next couple days I don’t know if I Will get anymore this winter maybe but for sure I will get more for next winter.

my daughter, Crista is on her way to Arizona for a long weekend with her boyfriend, nice way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, they are going to go for a hot Air ballon ride, I certainly hope all goes well with that.

good grief weight loss is sooo hard after I retired I realized how much overweight I really was after quitting smoking I really packed it on, last March when I went to Florida with friends I really realized after struggling with a lot of walking and seeing pictures I decided I needed to do something I started walking lost 10 pounds, then when Mom got sick I got away from it and was just eating crap hospital food, I gained 5 back I started at 260 went down to 250 then gained 5 back which had me at 255 the beginning of the rest, I am trying to be real serious walking when I can weather permitting, cut out sugar, and most all carbs and closely watching calories between 1000 and 1200 per day managed to get a 4 mile walk in this morning, now today I am 242.9 so such a slow process but it’s working I just have to stay on top of it everyday no slacking and will be journaling here about it once a month or so maybe will help keep me on track.my goal 180 by June 2021 for my Alaska Cruise

Ok well here we go again another new year 2020 can’t believe how nice the weather has been here in PA don’t remember it ever being this warm in January scary in a way things are changing I remember in my younger years we would get tons of snow and it lasted all winter now they are calling for 60 degrees this weekend, well I will take it don’t like cold and snow all that much now that I am getting older.

I went to a different trail, head this week for my walk it is closer to my house and different scenery the trail is total 20 miles so I will be switching up want to eventually see it all

Kept pellet burner going all night as it was 17 last night now the warm up starts today but for now also have wood burner going on in house might work on car some, seems there is always something to do on it and with it going up to 40 today an for sure going for a hike.

Another Christmas done it was a good day we had a smoked turkey this year for something different it was ok not great but was ok will probable do it every year now as Mom does not want to cook but still wants everybody at her house for holidays so smoked turkey it is Ham is not a problem it just gets cooked for a couple hours then I slice it and put in aluminum pans, so it worked out well, my great grandson Landon got a battery powered truck he loved it

Landon

It was surprising warm I think it was in the 50s seems strange for Christmas but weather appears to be changing for the better I remember in my younger years winters were brutal now not so much I didn’t even plow once last year so that is fine with me.

I am going to go and clean out pellet burner and get some heat fired up in garage I will be tinkering out there today, I put Moms car on trickle charge she has not driven it since August and battery was dead, and my daughter Cris, is coming to take her out for lunch and decided to drive her car it will do it good to be driven.

Exactly one year ago today December 20th 2018 was my last day of work I was really looking forward to Retirment and it has been great I got myself comfortable financially so I am doing ok well except for December with Christmas it is always a little stretched out but I am fine, I always have something to do if not I am in my garage tinkering with my old cars, and now with Mom being sick I am extra busy but all in all life is good.

glad my furnace broke when it did as it was 15 this morning, I think I got all my Christmas chores in order it is like pulling teeth to find out what the girls want I figured a couple thinks and will make up the rest with cash that always seems to work.

health wise things seem ok had a ct scan done again on my lungs and a sonogram done don’t know why but she wants me to go to a specialist for a consultation I guess she wants a second opinion I don’t know will wait till after holidays to get that done

It was about 8:30 this morning I was feeling a little chilly I always wear sweatshirt in house but it was just not feeling right checked thermostat and it said it was 68 I keep my furnace at 72 so I know trouble I checked breaker box no tripped breaker, didn’t know what else to do fairly new 2012 furnace so all pretty much electronic, so called local company who installed it left a message they called back 1/2 hour later told me parts were 10 year warrantee and they would have someone over this morning, sure enough the guy showed up at 9:30 was bad pressure switch had it up and running by 10:00, relieved me of $ 140.00 plus $ 20.00 Christmas tip so I am back in business.

went walking yesterday on trail it has been almost a month since I have been out there after hurting my back, wow makes a difference my legs hurt, did 3 miles, going to have to keep that up and stay in shape.

Yesterday was wet all day just a gloomy day took Mom to doctors then called about my radiator it was done they lost my number not the best way to run a business but it is done so I went and picked it up now just to reinstall it

Today started out nice and warm but slowly going downhill suppose to be in 30s tonight I guess it is that time of year

Marleys eyes look really good the surgery was a success I think she is happy being able to see so much better it was a rough night when she came home she cried almost all night but now stitches are out and she seems happy $ 600.00 hurt a little bit but I had to have it done I guess that really was not too expensive for surgery.

Well I guess summer is officially over so cold out today, I went for breakfast only ate half brought the rest home with me another thing I am trying with my weight loss struggle is I love to eat out so I always take half home with me for later, has it helped ? No but I figure can’t hurt I will continue doing so.

I hurt my back moving a stove for my daughter it was finally starting to feel better when I did a dumb Thing I was working on my car the front end is up on jack stands and I was reaching across to pull a plug from carburetor couldn’t quite reach it so I kind of jumped sidewise and felt my rib pop as I landed on fender, yes cracked a rib and that hurts like hell.

Thanksgiving went good Marleys eye surgery went good also her stitches are out and she seems to be feeling pretty good and I think she can see much better.

I love Christmas season but not when it is over starting first of year not much to look forward to except spring kind of depressing but that’s ok I will get over it I love retirement
