and set. the dive feels good today. loud and familiar. but i can tell the edge is close and the water’ll soon feel different. a new phase. a new age. life is change. but i keep the dear scenes close like a greedy little fiend: a poet’s words, a carpenter’s holy hands, a mother’s utterance of prayer, a friend’s soft gaze.
and who am i today? a woman drinking slowly a glass of chardonnay after a hard day’s work. setting plans in motion, occasionally settling in with a familiar dream or comforting memory that sneaks in past my soul’s door.
