In shock right now.

And on the verge of tears.

I just found out something devastating regarding a much younger friend of mine, someone I knew in Chicago, and someone I’ve even mentioned in this diary a couple times. (I’m not going to mention names in this entry, however.)

In the past few years, she’s been going through so much — PTSD, mental health issues, depression, and even kidney failure. And she’s not 30 yet.

Now I’ve found out the reason, and it explains a lot.

She just posted on Facebook that, four years ago today, the police suddenly raided her home in the UK and took her husband off to prison for some serious sex crimes that he had committed, and to which she had been totally oblivious.

Seems he and his mistress chatted online to a 14-year-old girl, lured her to a hotel, and made her a sex slave for an entire night. When the police seized his computer, they found a file called “Slaves in Training” and he had also been in contact with a 12-year-old girl and some others.

Afterward, my friend was sick and cried for months. She was pregnant at the time, but could not eat and lost over 30 pounds during the pregnancy. Fortunately, her daughter was fine when born, but everything my friend went through put some serious stress on her kidneys, which were suddenly kaput. She’s been on dialysis for quite awhile now, waiting for a kidney transplant.

She’s divorced and has a new boyfriend now — a transgendered man — who is very loving and supportive, and great with her daughter as well. She and daughter have moved back to America and back into Mom’s house in the Chicago suburbs.

I’m feeling very sad that my friend went through all this. I’ve known her since she was a chubby eight-year-old.
