Trepidation

John told me yesterday he’s gotten far behind on the electric bill, and he wouldn’t be surprised if service was turned off soon.

This I just didn’t need to hear.

He’s neglecting his utilities — gas has already been shut off for two years, hence no heat or hot water — but he has plenty of money available to rent an office downtown he doesn’t need, or for a three-week trip to Australia he’s been planning for November, just so he can meet some guy he’s been corresponding with online.

In short, his priorities are screwed up.

I need to step up my efforts on getting out of there. I scanned the ads online for rooms for rent here in the Cleveland area, but right now there are slim pickings in my price range, and the people who posted the ads all sound so picky.

But I believe — and know — that the perfect solution is going to come along at need.
