S. and I celebrated the completion of a marathon garden planting session with a walk to visit a huge oak tree she discovered.
Along the way we found a plant I have never seen before called a ‘Twin Berry’.
A very pretty little thing no?
We wandered around a lot, trying to avoid the overflowing irrigation ditch, but finally found the huge oak.
It’s sort of hard to get a good picture of something like this.
Trust me, it was huge.
Everything was looking beautiful because of the setting sun…
Along the way, we noticed a house where no one is living now. It’s on our list of places to inquire about.
But the real good news of the day is that in the garden, we now have, lettuce, spinach, peas, broccoli, brussels sprouts, carrots, rutabegas, parsnips, corn, lima beans, potatoes, green beans and onions planted. Oh yeah, and some crook neck squash.
My mouth is watering just thinking about what is to come.
That’s a lotta food right there…
Guess who is in charge of weeding?
