Hello, My Name Is Yetzirah, And I Am….

Before that fateful day in May…. before ‘the ankle incident’, while I was walking down the street, minding my own business, walking three dogs, [Acey was with us then], I had been maintaining my goal weight from Weight Watchers for over 6 months.

Unfortunately, with all the inactivity during my cast days and wheelchair days, and walking boot days, I managed to gain a few unwanted pounds.

I have been trying to get rid of them on my own in a sporadic manner that is just not cutting the mustard.

It finally dawned on me that I have weight loss peeps. A whole room full of them. They are full of positive energy, good ideas, great stories, and two point snack bars…. I mean helpful insights about losing weight.

The only thing that separates me from all those positive things is a certain Sunrise Blvd. filled with car butts.

I’ve decided to go back over there and get rid of this single digit number of pounds so I can stop fussing about it in my brain. Hard drive space is getting limited up there considering all the years I have been stuffing information in it, and I want to use that weight worry space for something more interesting. Like felted bag creation and watercolor …. hmmm, I haven’t dipped my brush in water for quite some time. SEE! I need more space up there for creating watercolors!

(I’ll pass on commenting about the ability of your brain to absorb more information…. and trust me, I have things to say about it. But more importantly, let’s stop being coy about the number. What’s the damn number you weenie?)

Sucking in air through teeth….

Are you happy now?

(Just trying to keep it real Cupcake. …I mean mini bar.)

Tomorrow is my meeting day.

So cover me.

Car butts be damned.

I’m goin’ in.

What’s with all the profanity?

No idea.

Well, I don’t like it.

Me either.

  1. Good choice!

    I’m very proud of you.

  2. The way I see it you also have a group right there at home to keep you pointed in the weight loss direction. The dogs will keep you walking, Red will work you half to death and ( ) will happily prod you anytime you get mentally weak in the knees.

The only one you need to get on board is Little Miss Sunshine. She does love her cookies! Carrot sticks are a cheerful color; maybe she can be convinced they are treats. If not, I have a spiced carrot refrigerator pickle recipe that just might do the trick.

  3. Wish I’d done what you did. I waited a year and a half instead of a few months, and had to undo a lot more damage. I actually just made it back to goal today, and the "peeps" had a lot to do with it. Good luck, and may the weight loss be with you.
