I admit that my mental faculties are not quite what they used to be, but I thought I was a little more aware than this….

I have been picking just a handful of tomatoes over the last couple of weeks and it seemed like there were more of them on the vine that should be ripening soon.

I water, I check, I DO look at them.

But I have discovered that the human brain is better at noticing someting NEW rather than noticing something that has been removed.

Or stolen.

Pilfered.

Pinched.

Purloined.

Filched.

Or,

[here’s a sanitized word for it....] Misappropriated.

Yesterday by sheer happenstance, I caught the perp in the act.

An arrest was made.
