Leo has gone to his maybe forever home. The people are going to see if he gets along with their two year old Sheltie female. Hopefully they learn to love each other. He was fun to have around but…. he took up a lot of space for his size if you know what I mean.
I have enjoyed two nights of uninterrupted sleep and feel like a new woman.
I don’t know how much rain we have been blessed with in the last week, but I do know that it has caused some major earthworm migrations. We took the dogs for a run out by the big pond yesterday in the rain and wind and all we saw everywhere were earthworms on the move. You could hear them yelling at each other…. “Move to higher ground! Hurry!”
We took the dogs out in the gale because with little Leo around our walks had become almost non existent. Me with three dogs on leashes is not a good mix. Ben and Sunny were going a bit stir crazy because of it, so we braved the wind and took them anyway. From the way they cavorted about, you would have thought it was a balmy day in May. Wind, water, and an overflowing pond did not even register. They plowed through it all, no problems.
I however lost my purple umbrella to the wind. I was trying to close it up and it caught the wind in the wrong direction. The thing was at least 15 years old, and all we can say is it died in the line of duty. So now I’m in the market for a new umbrella. This time I think I would like a red one. But we shall see.
But on to other things…
Today I am giving away this odd little pouch…
It was an experiment in patterns and full of odd bits of yarn I had left over from other projects. I’m not sure what one could use it for. Seems like a good place to store odd things. Like say your shrunken monkey heads or lumps of coal you got for being naughty at Christmas time or the miniature bars of moose poop soap that you picked up on your last trip to Alaska, that kind of thing.
Leave a comment, enter the drawing.
I’ll draw names on Wednesday morning.
(You realize of course, that bag looks ridiculous, and you are hardly doing anyone a favor by giving it to them….)
Perhaps we could put YOU in with the moose poop soap and shrunken monkey heads. To sweeten the deal so to speak.
(I do NOT consort with monkeys. EVER.)
Well, there’s a first time for everything….
