Up early today. Took the dogs for a run in the dark. It wasn’t THAT early, but still, the sky was filled with stars and a crescent moon was straight overhead. The dogs don’t care what the weather is, or what time of day it is… OUTSIDE is good as long as they can run themselves silly. Really, they don’t ask for much.
I have been trying to make myself a winter hat for the last few weeks. I won’t show you the one that turned out HUGE and is now sitting in my knitting bag contemplating where its destiny lies.
I cast on another one because I am the eternal optimist. Good thing too because this one turned out superb…. after a few adjustments.
Originally, it too turned out HUGE. But this time I was making it out of 100% wool, so I threw it in the washer to felt it up a bit. Tried it on. Nope, still too big. Back in the washer. Took it out to dry… this took two DAYS.
But this time it was perfect.
For me anyway.
The yarn color is ‘Oatmeal’. And that is exactly what it looks like. Lamb’s Pride worsted has a little mohair in it so it has the fuzzies. I like the fuzzies. I wore it this morning on our outing and it kept my head nice and toasty.
I’m glad I didn’t give up.
(Oatmeal on top of the head with the oatmeal inside of it. Yeah, that makes sense.)
You are just jealous. You don’t even HAVE a head, just sides. That would make you an AIR head. I’ll take oatmeal over air any day.
