Dairy, we had a dude get fired yesterday. He was a pretty sorry worker but the reason gave for the firing was his attendance. I know he was there more than my “buddy” so I figure it must of been a combination of attendance and being a sorry worker. He was a fun dude to be around though. He was always cutting up and in a good mood. We’ve got another dude who almost got fired last week. I like this kid but he’s real immature. He’s either playing around when he shouldn’t be or getting mad over something stupid. He was operating a crane and intentionally ran into another crane because they were holding him up. The loads swung and could have easily hit the other guys working in the area and they were very close to some pretty expensive equipment and could have caused some damage.

I think Jamie may finally be giving some serious thought to what kind of a career he may want to go into. I hope he wants to do something that will make him feel he’s doing something important and I also hope he likes whatever field he goes into. I worked a job for 16 years that I absolutely hated. I don’t want that for him.

I work with a guy who is going to Kentucky this week to help with cleanup after the ice storms they had. He asked if I wanted to go. I did but I had such short notice and I would have had to use 3 days vacation so I passed this time. They have a group of nine going. I think if they would have been coming back on saturday instead of sunday I may have gave it more serious thought.

We had to buy a new dryer this week the old one finally went out after 15 years. This one is suppose to know when the clothes are dry and cut off by itself. I was surprised to see this feature on one of the most inexpensive dryers in the store. It’s also bigger than our old one. I’m just thankful that we had the money when we needed it. I actually bought the new one, installed it and took the old off all in the same day. Normally in that situation I’d buy the new one one day, install the next and carry the old one off within 6 or 7 weeks, or maybe months. I’m not as bad as our neighbors though, we always know when they get a new appliance or piece of furniture; the old one goes in the backyard and stays there. But it’s their yard, they can do what they want with it. I guess that’s all I have for now.
