Dairy, I have to answer SkyeMacLeod. I don’t really know how to address you so I will just call you Skye, if that’s not acceptable just let me know and I’ll not do it again. If you are like most folks you’ll probably never read me again anyway and that’s fine too. Yes Skye, it is intentional to call my diary Dairy. I started this journal with the intention to be goofy and corny and I decided to name my diary Dairy on the spur of the moment while making my first entry. I have stuck with it for 2 or so years and I think I’ll stick with it even if it is stupid. Although I think a lot of my entries have been more serious than goofy the past year. If anyone thinks it is stupid that is alright with me, when you say and do some of the things I say and do you really need to expect someone to think you are stupid. Actually I get a kick out of it sometimes and do stupid things on purpose just to watch how others react. An example of this is going to Bojangles with a friend. The ice machine had a picture of a sweet potatoe pie and I told one of the workers real loud that the sweet potatoe pie machine must be broken all I could get out of it was ice. I acted real serious and got some odd looks and snickers(laughs not candy bars). I personally got a kick out of it. I’ve been known to do crap like that quite a bit. Dairy, the last 3 nights have been a trip. My buddy, the one I try to help out and keep the work leader from chewing his butt all the time, has a history of missing work for one reason or another. His wife is sick, she has some serious kidney problems. For the last 4 months he has been averaging 1 day a week. We think he is working one day a week just to cover his insurance. We’ve often wondered how the crap has he been surviving. I feel bad for the dude, Dairy, but I just can’t believe that he has to miss so much work. Everyone at work feels the same way, of course we may be wrong, but I don’t think so.

DAiry, he worked monday night. He came over to me and told me that he got a cut off notice for his power. He said he was only one day late and they was cutting it off on wednesday. This was tuesday morning so the latest he could have found out was monday. Am I figuring wrong or is Monday to Wednesday two days? I told him I didn’t believe they would cut it off being one day late. Oh yeah this company would, he says. He kept talking and said he’d known sooner but he forgot to check the mail last thursday and didn’t find out until friday. Friday to Wednesday is 5 days so the one days notice had to be a lie anyway you looked at it. I told him I couldn’t help him. I felt bad but if he’d been making any effort over the last few months to work I’d have gave him the money. This dude asked everyone in our department to borrow money. He actually worked 2 days in a row and did this for 2 days and on 2 shifts. I know that he got the $40 the first night and he kept asking, some he told them he needed it for the water bill and others for the electric bill.

Dairy, the dude came in last night for the 3rd night in a row. We was shocked. We didn’t have much to do in our area so he tells the supervisor that he was gonna go home after one hour. He told me before he told the supervisor and I asked him how he was gonna pay his bills and he just shrugged. He told me he had contacted several local charities and that none of them had any funds available. I can’t help but wonder if they meant for someone who came back month after month. At first I felt real bad because he was in tough situation, and he is, but I can’t feel as bad for him when he keeps making decisions that make his situation worse. If he was making a legitamate effort to take care of his wife and his bills I feel confident that his co-workers would have paid his power bill and then some and never expect to be paid back. I guess he asked me first since I’ve tried to help him in the past, but there’s just so much you can do for some people. I’d rather help someone who is making an effort to be responsible.

Dairy, this was the topic of conversation for 3 straigth days at work. Since he worked 2 days and worked over both days we may not see him again for another month. Of cours if I was him I’d work next wednesday and the following sunday. That’s the day before and after the holiday. It’s required to work that to get the 2 days holiday pay. Oh yeah Dairy, he asked me if I was working over the holiday weekend and I told him “no I’m going to the beach”. That was about 2 hours after I told him I wouldn’t give him any money. I told him I wouldn’t not couldn’t. If he ever asks again I’m gonna just flat tell him why.

Dairy this may sound like we are a bunch of cruel and heartless bunch but I don’t believe we are.

Dairy, last night I had a pretty laid back slow paced night. It was colder than a well-driller’s fanny……not that I know how cold a well-driller’s fanny is, not by any “hands-on” experiences anyway!!!! I mean I’ve just heard talk and I don’t even know it that talk was true or not. But it was cold.

Dairy, me and Jamie done some mail bonding this morning. We taped(bonded) and packed shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse. The local baptist association, which our church belongs to, collects them and packs them in bigger boxes, puts them in a tractor trailer, and ships(mails) them to the charlotte warehouse. We handled 175 boxes in 2 hours. I think the total our church made was 88.

Dairy, I recollect that’s all I has to say, so I’ll not say no more except my usual ending.

Dairy, I gots two get me a black and white striped shirt. I was coming back from brake last night and won of my good friends was in the face of another dude. There both young bucks and think they are “the man”. I thunk they was horsing around at first, but they was fixin to fight. I stood their write next two them trying to decide if EYE won’ted to get involved or knot. EYE decided cents EYE didn’t won’t either won of there jobs EYE’d step in. They both seamed relieved and calmed down pretty quick. EYE don’t think either won won’ted to lose there jobs over something stupid but once they was up in each other’s face niether won won’ted to back down first.

Dairy, I talked to Jeremy, the won I referenced as a good friend. Jeremy is won of those people who never meats a stranger and he has become good friends with the supervisor and after some jawing the other dude called Jeremy the supervisor’s boy and some other things. I tried to tale Jeremy that he’d better start contolling his temper instead of letting it control him. He has an extremely good job for a 19 year old just out of high school; I told him if he lost this job the next won might knot be as good and there wood definetly be some other smart mouth their so if he was gonna have to take some lip he’d better take it at the better job. He didn’t think it was write that somewon wood give him a hard time because he was friends with the supervisor. Like I told him there was nothing wrong with that but he’d durn shore better expect to take some ribbing; some good-natured and some not so good-natured.

Dairy, I didn’t really fill much like a referee; more like a father. It was pretty much the same weigh EYE’d of reacted to my on kids, except I’d of been a lot more forceful about it.

Dairy, won weak and won day and wheel be going to the beach. I gots to get to the library and get me some westerns. I can’ts weight dude!!!!

Dairy, I was so hoping it would rain so that I wouldn’t have to get wood. But I reckon dad has done about 98 no 99.1% of the work so if he wants it gone I’d better get it gone. But if I don’t git’er done I won’t be able to say got’er did.

Dairy, Kimmie has talked our ears off since she got back Sunday evening. She had such a good time and Lynn survived too. It was so quiet around here when she was gone.

Dairy, Lynn’s real lucky I didn’t kick over the last couple of years. We are having open enrollment to update or change our benefit plans. Well I have some life insurance and I didn’t have a beneficiary listed. Lynn put herself down as the beneficiary. I’m so glad she took care of that, now I can rest in peace!!!!!!

Dairy, I don’t really have anything to say so I’ll just hang up now.

It seams that every sew often sum won gets a wild hare up there rear and does that two me.

Dairy, they laid some people off at work this past week. I think the number was between 8 and 11. I know that don’t sound like many, unless your one of them, then it doens’t matter if it was a 1000 or 1. I’ve been there and not too long ago, I know how they feel and hope the best for them, but I know from experience that “hoping the best” for someone really doesn’t do a darn thing for them. It’s just empty words. So I’ll pray, and even that won’t bring some people any comfort.

Dairy, I also heard that there was gonna be some kind of corporate meeting this week and the rumor is that they will be discussing more lay-offs. This company has the reputation for laying off mostly salary and support people. It don’t help them folks but it does help me. Their policy is to keep those who do hands on work with the metal so that when things do get better they have the trained hands on people that they need. That’s what I do and since I’m certified in several jobs and am willing to work a lot of overtime then maybe, just maybe, I have an advatage on some of the folks who just want to put in their 8 hours and go home. At this stage management doesn’t predict an hourly lay-off, so we’d better watch out. No actually I feel pretty secure, it may be a false security but I don’t think so, we’ll see.

Dairy, my little girl is going away for the weekend. It’s the first time she will be away from any family at all. She’s going on a weekend youth retreat with the church. Everyone who has been in the past says it’s awesome. They have a rope course and play human fooseball and all kinds of things. They get a lot of sound Bible teaching also. I’m kind of jealouse cause this place is in the mountains. She likes the beach and is going to the mountains and I like the mountains and am taking her to the beach later this month. I reckon that is what parents do. I think it’ll be harder for me and Lynn and than for her.

Dairy, I voted today and I appreciate all those who voted early. I was able to walk in, give and sign my name, and vote. WE was out in less than 5 minutes. It was such a pleasant experience. It’ll be even better if McCain wins.

Dairy, just yesterday obama says that his policies will bankrupt the coal industries and cause electric prices to go sky high. I didn’t hear someone misquote or twist his words. I heard and saw them words straight from the mans own purple lips. I’ve got to tell ya Dairy, I don’t have a problem with him being black, I’ve voted several times for Alan Keyes in the primaries, he’s a good christian man. Like I said him being black isn’t a problem it’s his stands on all the issues and them purple lips. I could even get past them purple lips if he was a good conservative candidate.

Dairy, I was talking to a dude in the breakroom last night and he said he was gonna vote for McCain and he said it real low so no one would hear him. There were some black guys in the breakroom and he didn’t want to be accused of being a racist because of who he was voting for. Dairy, I’m gonna tell ya what is just as racist as voting for McCain because he is white and that is voting for obama because he is black. You shouldn’t vote for no one unless you agree with their stands on important issues. Although I have talked to one black who says IF was going to vote he’d vote for McCain because he preferred the name John to barack. Dairy, that’s stupid too.

Dairy, these are issues important to me. 1. Abortion- it is totally wrong.
2. Same sex marriage only- When we as a nation say that what God says does not matter then we are treading on dangerous ground. 3. Stem cell research- research shows that research using cells from aborted children(embryonic) has NEVER treated or cured any disease; while stem cells from umbilical cords(adult stem cells) have been beneficial for numerous treatments of diseases.
4. redistribution of wealth- I work my butt off for what I have and I want to decide who gets helped with my hard earned money. I don’t have a problem with paying taxes to support our military or for people suffering from illness, injury, or some other unexpected crisis; but I do not want my money going to able bodied people who have decided that it is easier to take a hand out than to work hard. Dairy, I feel that if a person has good morals that they will be trying to do what’s right in most areas. They may make mistakes and I won’t agree with everything they say or do but I can be confident that they have good intentions and desire to do right.

Dairy, I don’t just talk the talk on this I walk it. We have a tremendous amount of expense for medication between Lynn’s colon problems and Jamie’s TS and other things. I’ve been told by several people of an organization that will help people with medication. Me and Lynn have decided that we have good insurance that pays part of these expenses and even though it is tough we can afford our part of these medicines at the present time, and as long as we can afford it we will pay it even if it means not eating out or doing or having other things at times.
