Hey Dairy,
My laid back sadturday turned into a get a go and keep going day. We wented to a nearby yard sale stowed away some of the kids Christmas presents, then I gotted the farplace ready and builted a fire. I thunk I was gonna get to take it easy then we took off for more shopping. Every onct in a while I get a wild hair up my butt to be a little creative, so I’m gonna do some homemade craft stuff for Christmas this year for some gifts. I’ll tell ya what they is later. We buyed some books fer a local charity called Tyler’s Tree. They take up books and distribute them to local hospitals and give them to patients. There is a real touchy feely story behind it’s origins but I can’ts remember it all that good.
Call us crazy Dairy dude but we took the kids to Sam’s Club just to take them to get all the free samples of food. We was near there anyway and they had butt loads of samples there yesterday when me and Lynn was there.
Dairy, you’d been so proud of me to day, we was at Food Lion and Lynn said you want some ice cream and I turned it down. What the crap was I thinking!!
We getted home and I was threatened. Yeah I got this letter in the mail from the plant. It started by saying they are negotiating with the union and how bad off we are as a plant. They said their proposal would reduce wages and insurance benefits while increasing premiums. They ended by saying they have had productive meetings. We will get screwed but I guess it beats not having a job. Everything is going up and it takes everything to make ends meet now, heck I’m glad I doesn’t depend on that place. If my faith was in the plant it would be a lost cause. I reckon if’n the all this happens The Lord will provide all we need some other way. It may mean eating them cheap hot dogs all the time but that would beat going hungry. Oh well enough complaining for now.
What really riles me up about the stupid letter is that they could have posted that crap on the bulletin board. Instead they wait until that long anticipated thanksgiving break that you want to enjoy so much and send it to ya on ya first day off and throw a damper on ya time off. I think their timing makes it a scare tactic. I arsn’t scared I’m just mad about it. I tell ya Dairy six years ago we was on strike for a year and I think that management done more for solidarity than the union officials ever could. They sent all kinds of crap to us; letters begging us to come back to work, letters threatening us to come back or else, they even spent thousands of dollars making a stupid video portraying all union members as stupid rednecks. I gots to tell ya though the union did a lot(how’s that She….ean) that didn’t do us no good either. Hey if there’s any union officials out there reading this(and don’t think either one of ya are) don’t get mad, but the union wasted a lot of money that did nothing for us. They busted into a shareholders meeting causing a ruckus, they went overseas for something or other, most of what they did was for publicity that benefitted the national union and not the locals who were on strike.
OK I’m through venting now. I’ll settle down and make some goood ol oyster stew. My mouth is watering all ready(I know it’s already) so I had better go, I think Lynn is hungry.
HEBREWS 11:2 FOR BY IT THE ELDERS OBTAINED A GOOD REPORT.
I AM VONSTEGALL AND I MAKE DAWG-GONE GOOD OYSTER STEW IF’N I DO SAY SO MYSELF!!!
