1927Ashley made it home safe and sound. It didn't please me that she forgot to call me upon arriving and making it back home, but I'm just glad she's back.
Haven't heard from SSG. Special since yesterday morning. I miss him tons...even more so when I've not heard from him.
Not much else going on today. I rented some movies to watch this evening and have been burning CDs today. All the good older stuff. I'm now the proud new owner of CDs of The Monkees, Natalie Cole, Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Dean Martin, and last, but certainly not least because he's my alltime favorite, Frank Sinatra. I've made copies for Steph, too. Tomorrow, I have a whole new list of others to search for to include The Temptations, The Beatles, The Four Seasons, The Mamas & The Papas, and Herman's Hermits.
Tomorrow all of the neighbors are having an early cookout to celebrate Easter with the kids. I'll be taking virgin, non-alcoholic Mimosas for the children as my contribution. Thinking I might sip on one or two myself. The recipe hasn't been tried by yours truly yet, but sounds yummy.
Non-Alcoholic Mimosas
-1 (12 ounce) can frozen white grape juice concentrate, thawed
-1 liter of club soda, chilled
-Frozen orange juice concentrate (do not thaw)
-Garnish: Strawberries (optional)
Combine grape juice concentrate and club soda. Place a heaping tablespoon frozen orange juice concentrate in each champagne flute. Fill with "no-champagne". Garnish each glass with a whole strawberry, cut halfway from bottom to stem and hitched onto the rim of glass.
Number of servings: 8-10
I'll be doubling this recipe and am taking pastel colored, clear, pastic cups and straws to match for the kids to drink out of. And, I plan to put strawberries on the sides of the cups to make them pretty.
Sure hope the weather is pretty tomorrow! I'd really like to break out the flipflops.
Off to watch the movies I rented and paint my toenails, just in case.
