Just another day in the life of Alara-Sirinial-Amalon...
20 Oct 2003 - Wow...
Hey all,

Wow, I haven't been here in a while. Just reformatted my laptop--ick--and decided to stop by. We had the Visalia Band Review (or the Visalia Lions Club Band Invitational at Redwood High School/Mineral King Bowl-Centex Homes Stadium, which is the formal name) on Saturday. Mixed feelings 'bout that one. We were worried about losing to this one school, which I will just call "Western" on here (since they're called Tulare Western), since they've always taken the Grand Sweepstakes, which is the overall best award you can get. ALWAYS. And, for the first time, they were in our category. Normally, it's seperated by town, so we do well since we've got 177 members and the other two major schools have around 80 each. This time, we had Western, Tulare Union, Monache, and Lemoore. Lemoore was in our field category, Union in parade, but neither were in both with us. As for parade, it was: 1)Monache, 2)Union, 3)Redwood (that's us!), and 4)Western. Field was a little different: 1)Monache, 2)Redwood, 3)Lemoore. What happened to Western? They took field sweepstakes! And with impossible scores as well! They ended up with colorguard sweeps, field, percussion, and grand sweeps. That's sick. And about the field, it was actually a Redwood-Monache tie, but they broke it by looking at our music score, which was 2.5 points lower than Monache (our overall effect score was really high and their marching score was higher than ours, so it all worked out to a tie). Ugh. My brother thinks all the old judge-dudes are all senile and just give Western the trophy just because they've got it forever. No offense to any TWHS band members out there, but personally, I didn't like the show. The marching and the playing were awesome as always, but the show itself was kinda boring. Well, that's my rant for the moment.

Abby: Your rant for the MOMENT? Ha!
Alara: Shut up.
Abby: I'm your muse. I don't have to.
Alara: Abimara, I demand that you shut your mouth.
Abby: Oooh, full name usage. I'm cowering in terror. How 'bout I tell all these happy peeps g'bye?
Alara: Okee-day, you can tell 'em all bye.
Abby: Bye peeps! This is Abimara, signing out. Have a nice evening!

If you are reading this, that means you made it through my rambling. Thanks!
