(4:42 P.M. - 5:10 P.M. US Central Time/Saturday/library near my Aunt's house)[imood mood at time of entry: wonderful]
Side note: It took me over an hour and a half to get this entry ready, due to researching of all the candidates' websites and such, plus the screen kept blicking and erasing my work. Thank goodness for Select All and Copy!

I had the most wonderful morning today. I got out of bed at 6:15 A.M., and began getting ready for the event I had been waiting over a week to attend. The Democrats representing my District and/or in the Houston area, are up for (re)election this November. Well, they invited everyone in the community to come out and eat free breakfast and listen to campaign speeches. It was amazingly eye-opening (as in who was representing me), exciting, and possibly beneficial for me.
I went with the intentions to network, because I am so interested in the government, and the way things are run. Sure, I know that everything is corrupted, and that a lot of good people can go bad because of the power they posess, but an optimistic part of me wants to believe that something good can come of the whole process. I met a ton of political[(ly)-inclined] people, including the fabulous (*lol* I'm a dork.), Representative Jessica Farrar.
From the moment I saw her take her turn to speak, I just adored her. She, as a woman rightfully should, is extremely concerned with women's issues, such as, female healthcare, and how the Bush Administration affects our options, locally and globally. She liked me back, and she told my mom how smart I was, and that her staff needed people like me. She also told me that I should have come with her to the march she held in Washington in April for women's rights/healthcare options. She told me that she would have paid for me to go with her. The cherry would have to be that she continually said we had to keep in touch, and that I should call her. Then, she gave me her address (!!) and invited me to an election night party. I have always wanted to go to one of those!!
My "Wicked" story is coming along. A few people still can't accept that my story is AU (Alternative Universe), but hey, that's their problem.
I want to go this art exhibit tomorrow at the University of Houston. It should definitely be fun. I believe the event is titled the "Sculpture Wars". Hrmm. . . Competition I suppose. My friend Andrew told me about via email earlier this week.
So now I have this awesome event to look forward. Who says life's not worth living? I hope everyone else has had as good a weekend as I did.
Oh! Before I forget (and I almost did because I was so excited about this morning), thank you to everyone who came by for the last written entry and left their thoughts, concerns, comments about the Christopher Reeve and Ken Caminiti.

"If nothing else qualifies me to be a judge in criminal court, it's being a stepfather to teen-agers, all three of them," Democratic lawyer Leslie Ribnik said at the forum. Not that his stepchildren are criminals.
Ribnik is trying to oust Republican Mike Peters.
