It was not a good morning today. I took Duke out for a walk as the rain had lessened finally to a mist. Duke was really anxious for a rip. When we were almost home Duke saw one of his friends just as it started pouring again. We went in the recreation center to get out of the rain. Duke ran up to him to greet him. This guy likes to rough house with Duke and as Duke jumped up to give him a big tongue lick, he slipped on the wet pool deck and fell. He crumpled into a ball wimpering. I knew immediately something was wrong with his leg so I took him to the pet hospital right away. He has a broken leg, just below his knee. They have him there now waiting to put him in a full leg cast. The vet said that if that didn't work in two weeks, he would have to have surgery to put pins in, as the break is in a bad place. Looks like my Christmas could be an expensive one. I will write again after I get Duke home later this afternoon.
