After rereading yesterday's entry I think that maybe I was not clear about a couple of things. Yes there are some wonderful teens out there, but all of them have probably been raised by very responsible parents who saw to it that they were imbued with a great set of values. I know that there are some children who do not have the good fortune of being raised by good, responsible parents. When that happens should I feel responsible, both monetarily and and psycologically? I do not think so, not as long as those responsible for bringing those children into the world are let off the hook. I believe that as an adult I am responsible for correcting bad behavior when I see it, but even then when I do, normally they take offense. The "it takes a village" approach is fine when it is applied as it was back in the 50s and 60s. As Pragmatist pointed out, when teens "acted up" their indesgressions preceded them home. Today though, if one was so bold as to notify an unrulely child's prarents of their actions they would probably be severly derided for butting in. My point is, adults, especially parents must be responsible. If they are not, it must be forced on them. The responsible few can not be continuously taxed, both monetarily and psycologically, and have it forced on them.
Today was a perfect day. A high of 80 degrees, trades blowing 15 mph, and a sunny sky. My hope is that all of you have a day like that soon.
The clock that I posted today on my entries is from a Japanese site. I found it on a diary that I happened on today. I liked it so decided to see if I could do it. I read some Japanese but I got lucky getting the proper code for it entered. Please don't ask me how I did it as I have no idea. I can only say that toki means time, and tokei means clock or watch....but then, if you can not read katakana or hiragana what good does that do? Anyway, good luck.
