I woke up early in the morning and read and replied to e-mail. Quite a lot of discussion in the Coinherence mailing list on the work of Charles Williams, because someone had suggested that he was a gnostic, and various people
expressing opinions about the differences between pietism and mysticism, neither of which make much sense to me.Val phoned to say that someone was advertising computer monitors for R300.00, so I phoned them and eventually bought one to use on the BBS.
After supper watched the third one-day cricket match against Sri Lanka, broadcast from Paarl, which is probably the most beautiful cricket ground in the country. Sri Lanka had set a target of 248, and the South African batsmen
were trying to catch up.
It was also the first lunar eclipse of the century, and of the third millennium, and the shadow is just beginning to appear on the moon now 8:46 PM, as I type. One advantage of watching the cricket is that they show
closeups of it now and again during the match.
Went outside to take photos of the eclipse, but the TV shots from the cricket match were a bit disappointing, because of cloud in the Western Cape. It's now 10:23 PM, and the moon is now fully eclipsed, showing a dim red, as if
illuminated from within. South Africa has just won the cricket match, finishing with a magnificent 6 from Jacques Kallis, which took him over his 100.
