5 Apr 2008 - Chat, Hair and Paul D.
Dee came in at about half 9 to discuss shopping she wanted to get in town. I'd been in Jim's chat with the tired ones - Katinka-tailor-soldier-sailor-rich man-poor man-beggar man-thief-adoinka, tony, kenny and Jim of course. End of show. People getting ready for sleep, or trying not to fall asleep. Left to wash my hair.
Lynn did a good job of my hair again as she always does. Gave her a generous tip and made another appointment. Went into the Post Office shop and picked up some drinks for Dee and me and some choc and was just going out the door when I hear, "There she is". Dee and Chloe met me in the doorway. We stood and talked outside the shop for a minute or two then they decided to walk back through to Elm Tree with me - about 10 minutes and get the bus from there. Chloe's got family problems at the moment. We met at the bus stop after school yesterday too, trying to talk through her problems. I feel sorry for Chloe because her brother seems to get special treatment and Chloe is not treated very well at all from what I hear. Dee is keeping her company and trying to cheer her up. I wish I could help but when it comes to a mother like that there's not a lot I can do except offer to be a sort of surrogate mum. We laugh because we have a sort of triangle thing going on - we joke that Chloe is Dee's mum, Dee is my mum and I am Chloe's mum. We look after each other. I'm damned sure Chloe wouldn't have had the eating disorder if it wasn't for her family. Just being there is all I can do. Chloe knows that she can get me on the other end of the phone at any time if she needs to talk about anything. Between us, Dee and I can give Chloe a bit of love and understanding - something which is sadly lacking nowadays from her rather selfish mother. And to call her that is not talking behind backs. I have called her that to Chloe after she's told me about the way she's been treated by her mum and Chloe knows that if I could spend some time with Julie (C's mum), I'd like to give her a good shake and yell at her to look after Chloe properly, give her a key to her own home and trust her a bit more, let go of her and give her independence relevant to her age instead of laying down the law so much and demanding Chloe leave and go round her parents. Poor Chloe must be feeling so dejected and rejected. I hope she will go to either Dee or me when she needs something positive and supportive.
I've been sent a link to Paul Daniels' 70th birthday card online and have signed it. Paul comes from my area..... South Bank, Middlesbrough I believe and he still talks with a Teesside accent quite a bit - not a lot - but quite a bit. :) Check out the link.
I'm going to see if I can grab forty winks this afternoon. I'm feeling like I need to have a read and some relaxation, just lying down on this bed and completely relaxing - reading myself to sleep. :)
I haven't forgotten the links to the good Beatles YouTube vids I found. I'll put them up later - I've kept the links Spatzie, no worries. :)
Later dears, Love, Sair xx
