4 Apr 2008 - Lunchtime Thoughts
Carrying on from yesterday, I'm sitting at my desk next to the window at work, wondering how I would cope if suddenly some accident happened and I was left without my sight, hearing, arms/legs, use of my body from the neck down, taste, touch...I could go on... Look around you. Take pleasure in what you see, hear, touch, taste, smell right now. Be thankful that you can. I may often tell you I am feeling miserable but really I know I shouldn't. I am thinking now of people who have had debilitating strokes, altheimers and their carers etc. My great pleasure over the past few days has been listening to the early birds and their chatter as I go out early to work and sitting down to listen to them on my return too. I'm checking out the Magnolia bushes coming into flower and taking great pleasure in the daffodils which have been planted around my estate. If you had to live without either your hearing or your sight, which would it be? I can't choose. They are both so important. If you are lucky enough to be healthy and not have any serious medical complaints, then be thankful. I know I am today. That sounds so slushy and sentimental doesn't it? Well yes, but it's also very true.
Time for me to finish off my soup and get back to work....
Oh Spatzie!! It was you with the comment about the Lyre Bird! (I thought it might be hehe).
I used to visit a minor bird every Saturday afternoon in a pet shop in Carlisle when I was a small child. Used to have some very exciting "conversations" with it while my mum and dad went shopping down the same street. They knew they could trust me to stay there and the pet shop owner must have agreed to keep an eye on me. I loved that bird - he had a huge repertoire of words. :)
Later... Love, Sair xx
4 Apr 2008 - Fantastic Stickam Chats! :-D
What a great evening I have had! Spent a long time with Spatzie in a Stickam chat and we told each other family stories. It turns out that our relatives may have met... a long time ago in the Carlisle area. Small world. Spatzie played me some of her favourite music... and some of mine - Mike Oldfield! Thanks for such a pleasant time Spatzie - I very much enjoyed our very long chat and I hope we can repeat the experience sometime soon. What a lovely woman you are! :D
Not only did I have the pleasure of Spatzie's company tonight, but Mojo came into my Stickam too! I had no idea that you had moved for good to the U.S. yet Mojo so I apologise for my ignorance. You must be completely shattered with all the organisation you have had to sort out and you must rest on Monday - catch up with your sleep, relax mate! You won't be able to function properly when you need to before the wedding if you don't get your brain rest. Love to you and please pass on my love to Liz too. Together for good at last and nearly joined at the hip too!! LOL.
I have had such a fun evening with people I love tonight. I'm in such a good mood. I don't think I could feel any better right now. Such good people. Such good company.
I am fortunate to have such superb friends! Hope you can re-sub for my update emails Mojo without too much bother. I never really thought about you not being with blueyonder/virgin anymore. You've been with them the whole 7 years I have known you! You've stayed here with me loyally all that time so I don't want to lose you! Good luck with the changeover of email addy. If you need assistance, let me know. :)
Long, intimate chats with people I absolutely love is much, much nicer than chatting with people I don't know and who don't know me. If you see me on cam chat and want to chat - anyone else - if I know you well from my diary, sign up to Stickam, ask to become my friend and if/when you are approved and added as a friend, then you can come into my Stickam rooms and chat with just text or, preferably with cam! :)
Haven't been this UP for ages! I'm not going into Jim/Hank's, Greg's or Rob's cam chat anymore. Superficial chat I can do without. People who want to know me and don't mind me being nosey to find out about them in proper friend chats - much nicer. Marcia joined us briefly and said she'd be back but didn't come back in. My guess is that because my caption said I was chatting with Mojo, she came in to have a nose around and leave to go to Jim/Hank's room. LOL. I could be wrong of course.
I have been missing "him" less and less lately. Those cam chats have been a place of selective friendship, moodiness, cliques and ignorance lately and those are not particularly attractive traits to find in a man who I am massively attracted to. None of us is perfect. I am not and "he" certainly isn't. Making sure I don't see the man is helping me enormously in my quest to "get over" him.
A great evening I've had. Loved it! Thank you Spatzie! Thank you Mojo! Great friendship. :-D
