19 Mar 2008 - Sleep and Chat and eBay
After something to eat, some telly news and a short chat with Dee I went off to sleep - at about half past 6 in the evening. I slept like a baby right through until about half five this morning! I definitely needed that sleep.
Woke up a little, sat up and switched on my mac laptop and opened up my Index page on this diary. Jim and a few others were still around - donna, gary, kookawaka, katinka and some others. Sent Jim some BRG remixes/mashups. Sent him Norwogian Weed and he grinned from ear to ear! LOL. Also sent my favourite remix by Veech - The End Megamix - 7 minute one with just the guitars mainly - I LOVE that track. Gary said he was enjoying that too. Had a good chat. Gary sent some great Eagles to Jim and he played all those too.
Had to leave at 8 on the dot to go to the docs with Dee. We saw the Practice Nurse and she gave Dee another load of hormone pills - another 6 months' worth. The bad spells of dizziness are decreasing with every pack she takes at around the time she *would* have had her bleed. I hope this situation gets better. If no better after the 6 months, then we're to go back and see Tracy, our G.P. Discovered a new Pharmacy near to work - just across the Ring Road, next to the subway - five minutes walk away from work!
Me? Oh I've had a wonderful morning! NOT! As soon as I got into work I realised that I'd forgotten to get some painkillers from the pharmacy! Spent the morning in agony. One of the girls gave me some painkillers but they didn't hit the pain. It's been a bad one again - like someone's stabbed me with a very large sharp blade and is moving it backwards and forwards, cutting me up. Not a very nice feeling to endure. When I'm at home, I tend to escape the pain by sleeping. Can't do that in work hours of course.
Went back to the 365 Pharmacy at 12 lunchtime, just now. Dee took extra money for school dinners and bus fare from the surgery into school and cleared me out of all my cash. It cost me £2.80, just one way into town with Dee this morning. It's not cheap on the buses anymore, that's for sure. I have no money at all now. Asked 365 if I could get some Paramol painkiller tablets with my card and they said they don't do cards!! Fortunately the Rowlands Pharmacy is only a couple of minutes further down - the one I've always used that's next to my surgery so I got some Paramol and some sanitary towels in there. They only had two and three drops pads and I need extra extra extra absobent at least 5 drop "overnight" ones. I have a flood on my hands. What fun. At work, having to change my pad at least every hour or risk flooding my clothes/chair. I wish the menopause would just get on with it and stop messing around with my body so much. All this bloody flooding is really annoying and inconvenient. I've already suffered a sort-of-a-bleed for the last two weeks. I just want some time off! The Paramol I took half an hour ago is starting to work now and I feel much, much better.
Saw an Intro to eBay course on the work's "Noticeboard" this morning and printed out the details. Have emailed to enrol. A couple of Saturdays a bus ride away in an area I know well, so I'm not nervous about going. I know full well how to go about buying from eBay but would like some one-on-one tutoring on selling stuff on there. I have lots of my Dad's old stuff hanging around which needs to go on there which I need to sell and split the profits three ways with my sister and brother. I've put it off before now but I need to get rid of all that stuff cluttering up my living space. Maybe this is what I need to give me the know-how and confidence to start selling properly. Hope so. Tried before but I didn't do very well - not very effective listing I'm sure was the problem and I need to learn the best way to go about all that. Looking forward to it. Hope there are enough takers for the course to go ahead.
I'm so glad I had about 10 hours sleep last night. I feel so much better for the rest. Hate having to leave the camchat in the morning to go to work etc. but it has to be done.
I copied some music onto my portable drive for transferring from my PC laptop to my macbook pro so I have a bit more music on my mac now - just moved over some of my favourites. Cannot get the internet on my PC laptop :( I must have messed up the ethernet cable in some way. It doesn't have wireless capabilities - it's OLD now - 2 and a half years! Haha! Any advice for how to set up my PC so that I can pick up the internet wirelessly on my PC laptop? The "dongle" thingy which used to pick up the signal no longer works. :( I'm having to pick my mail up online on my mac, rather than have it delivered/downloaded. Don't like that one bit.
Well it's time I wasn't here. I'm going to have some lunch now, yes soup - I'm very predictable. LOL. I've been sharing out Cadbury's Mini Eggs with the girls today and yesterday. No reason on earth why the children should have all the fun! :)
Later... Love, Sair xx
19 Mar 2008 - George Formby I'm NOT! :-)
My Uke arrived! I've spent a couple of hours after work this evening unpacking, tuning and learning to play my first three uke chords. I've found a great website - Pineapple Pete's Uke School. This is going to be confusing. A C is like a guitar G for starters! And a Uke G is just like a guitar D! Uh oh! LOL. I've always been useless in strumming an accoustic guitar, being lazy using a plectrum so I'm finding strumming the hardest bit so far. But I have only been playing for 3 hours so far. I'll get better with practice, I hope. :)
Here's the guy that George (Harrison) liked so much with one of his well-known songs. George Formby I'm NOT! :-)
