    10 Mar 2008 - Fell Asleep
Last night I got around to watching the film Short Circuit. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I always do. Watch it every now and again. Had a sleep and woke up with my alarm.

After that I surfed on into a website which details many songs relating to domestic violence. I found a couple with interesting lyrics and downloaded them from mininova.org. Not entirely relating to my own past cirumstances, I found one by Janis Ian called "His Hands". I need to give that a proper, long listen later.

Went to cam chat but felt extremely lonely so I wasn't the best of company. Had a few tears. Just the way I'm feeling today I guess. Not even Beatles could cheer me up today. G played a couple of familiar boots, which make me smile. Sad feelings of loneliness pervade my day today. Can't help it - can't snap out of it and really don't have any desire to. Am wallowing in self-pity. Feeling lonely. Feeling like I need to be with *that* person (won't disclose who *that* is, because it's private to me). Missing my parents and an adult to talk with and share things with dreadfully. All together it's producing a lot of silent tears today.

Last night my eyes drooped and I was going asleep on cam so I switched it off and said bye. Fell asleep almost instantly. Morning - my alarm went off and I went back into chat before work. Apparently I missed a load of fun. A "special guest" came into chat. There was a suggestion that I would want this person's autograph. Well, not really no. In the U.S. there seems to be an overall love of celebrity and they seem to love all that adoration and "associating with celebrities" stuff. If you're not famous or popular, then you're nothing. I've heard stories of very talented, mainstream British entertainers being asked to visit the U.S. to discuss "a deal" and because they were not "famous" in America they were more or less ignored and sidelined so they came back home! The more famous your name, the more the people want to associate with you. I dont' like that much. I just see the person. Either you're a good person or you're not. Showing off loads of autographs and stories of associating with "famous" people does not excite me in the slightest. It impresses people over there. It doesn't impress me. So this "special guest" - I'm supposed to be shattered that I missed him. Well no, not really - he's just another bloke. I shall listen to the replay of the show tonight and make my own mind up about him. I will admit to being a little worried that crudeness and swearing and talk of drugs may be upsetting for me, making me feel quite uncomfortable, but I'll give it a try and if I just feel so uncomfortable that my stomach churns again, I shall just hit the X on the corner of the open cam chatroom window and depart. I hope I don't feel the need to but there's no 'celebrity worship' here for any of the guests at all. I'll take him or I'll leave him. Enough of that anyway. Boring.

Very cold wind this morning with dark skies and much rain has given way to lots of sunshine which is drying the roads/paths. Typical English weather.

I remembered to give Dee the remaining £150 balance for her school trip to Germany this morning. I kept forgetting to go to the cash machine before now. I reminded Dee that this was not like me at all, waiting to pay for something. Normally we're all paid up before she goes, but Dee assured me that the majority of the pupils who went still have an oustanding balance to pay. Anyway, I'm glad that's off my head now. Pleased about that.

Dee and I did our grocery shopping yesterday and it's all due to arrive between 6 and 7 tonight. Once it's been delivered, I shall have some more sleep. Need to catch up.

Blimey! It's 5 to 2 - I haven't had anything to eat and I have to return to work at 2. A quick blast in the microwave for a mug of soup to drink whilst I'm working then.

    Later....
    Love to all xxx

10 Mar 2008 - And Now For Something Completely Different
A friend bought a ukelele at the weekend and now I've decided I want one too.  I've only ever played for my own enjoyment when it comes to guitar - I'm not very good, although I can play along with Little Lamb Dragonfly which has about 22 different chords in it.  :)  I can only really do rhythm - I'm not a person for lead.  I could never be as good as this guy with the ukelele but I'm willing to give the instrument a try because I do have a "musical ear" as they say.  I can usually tune a guitar without pitch pipes or assistance, just from knowing the notes in my head and I"m usually correct, if only a semitone out sometimes.  I do not know how to tune or play a ukelele but I'm willing to bet that I could soon find all sorts of resources on the internet for tuning assistance even.

Just take a look at this guy here... This shows you what is possible.... I'll never play like that but I'd like to give learning it a go.
I think George would have been quite impressed by this... :)
