4 Feb 2008 - Unwell
A quarter to 5 early on a Monday morning. I've been reading things on the net and drinking water. My cold has progressed to the running nose/streaming eyes stage. I'm going to try and get back to sleep in a minute.
Got a notification email from Greg. No show tonight. Apparently he has very bad flu. (Or is that just a bad cold ladies? We all know more men than women get the flu. Women just get on with it because they have to, with children etc. I'm only joking Greg {g}) Sincere best wishes for a speedy recovery to Greg. As I have no spleen and no way of fighting the infection, I'll probably end up going to the docs in a couple of weeks' time and asking for some stronger penicillin to take alongside my doubled up normal dose. To get rid of it all. Bloody nuisance.
Going back to sleep. Heavy eyelids. If you have a cold OR the flu today.... you have my sympathy.
Later... if I can stay awake... Love, Sair xx

Completed Dee's Parental Consent form for school for her trip to Germany this week and left it for her on the landing, ensuring she was properly awake to get to school, so that she didn't fall back asleep like she did the other week.
Was at the bus stop at almost my usual time - early. The sky was much lighter just before 8. What a difference. Easy bus ride to Brown's Bridge. Walked through to Durham Road and then up to Orde Wingate Way. The sorting office is a hell of a walk to get to. The man at the window at the sorting office was a grumpy soul. He found my parcel in just a minute. Walked back through the terraced houses to the bus stop at Wrensfield Road. Stood outside of the office where my colleages work - I do their typing. Thought I saw the "big boss" drive into the car park, although I could be mistaken. Peeked through the windows but didn't see anyone I recognised. There were lots of school children waiting for the bus so the queue was long. The bus didn't come. We must have waited well over half an hour for a bus to arrive. My back was hurting because of all the walking and standing. On top of that, I was sweating badly and I began to feel very faint. When the bus did arrive, the children who arrived at the bus stop after others - adults, all piled onto the already standing room only bus. I got on but we were packed like sardines and although people must have seen me sweating profusely and in pain, not one of the secondary school children gave up their seat for me. I thought I was going to faint. It was a nightmare. What had possessed me to go at that time of day? How stupid. I just wanted to get my parcel and get home again.
The t-shirt, bag and mug all looked fine when I unpacked them. The mug was very well wrapped in bubble wrap and had no damage at all.
I feel awful. My left ear is hurting. I am sweating. I'm dreading this infection spreading from a "head cold" to my lungs. I just can't throw off infections in my lungs. The first indication that it's going to my lungs, I'm off for an emergency appointment with my doc. Because I have no spleen to fight infections, I have been advised by the Practice Nurse to get an emergency appointment and skip the queue if I'm poorly.
Don't feel like doing the housework I need to do. Don't feel like telly or music or reading or anything really. Bleugh!
9.25 a.m. - going back to sleep.... Love, Sair xx
4 Feb 2008 - Cold
Headache, body aches all over, sweating, blocked/runny nose and eyes. Very achey. Never had a cold *this* bad before. Typing lying down because I can't get up...
