1 Oct 2000 - Welcome to my restoration diary Today I have been given a customised Austin A40 as a restoration project. My aim is to have the car roadworthy by July 2001 using only the money that I have saved since quitting smoking in August 2000. Today my budget is £32.80, £20.00 of which I have just spent getting the car towed to my house. So, the car is safely in my garage, what shall I do first? I think a sort out of the boxes of bits is in order, there are quite a few of them. Another important job that will definitely need doing at some point is deciding on a colour for the car. At the moment it is PINK. It will definitely not be staying pink. I’m thinking that maybe a bright yellow would suit this car.
