9 Oct 2009 - A little bit of nothing.
Wondering where Global Warming went...? It's certainly bypassed my neck of the woods, that's for sure. Windy, rainy today, temps struggling to reach 50 degrees... and more below normal temps are forecast for at least the next seven days or so. I was hoping for a nice, mild, walkable autumn, but except for a few stray days here and there, it's been anything but.

This weather is making me cranky.

I just cancelled my paid subscription to Ancestry.com. I was due for another automatic monthly payment as of tomorrow, and so I decided to opt out. I haven't really been putting any time into the research lately, yet have been paying for the service month after month. At any rate, on those occasions when I have spent time with it, I haven't been able to come up with any new info for quite awhile... guess I've hit a brick wall for now.

Maybe I'll reactivate my subscription at some later date. I am thrilled with how much I have been able to uncover.

Last night, during the wee hours, I caught a movie on LMN titled "Heights". It came out a few years ago, I guess, but somehow I hadn't heard of it. It struck me as one of those films you'd see at those artsy cinemas I like to frequent. It was about a bunch of New Yorkers who were facing major life changes, and about how their lives were surprisingly intertwined.

I just had to see the movie because James Marsden was in it, and I think he's the very essence of pure sex. And I wasn't disappointed, either. Shortly after the movie began, I got to see him shirtless and smoking cigarettes... and just before the end, this supposedly "straight" guy (who was engaged to be married) was kissing another dude!

Hot!

Looking forward to tomorrow's afternoon outing. My friend Silvija is coming into the city, and we're getting together for tapas at a Spanish restaurant, followed by a play at Chicago's famous Steppenwolf Theater.

I haven't seen her in quite awhile, so I can't wait. I promise to give a full report.
