3 May 2009 - 39 Questions For Older People
Stolen from someone on Facebook...

Tired of all of those surveys made up by high school kids? • "'Have you ever kissed someone? Missed someone? Told someone you loved them? Drank alcohol?"

Here's 39 questions for the people who are a little older...

1) What bill do you hate paying the most?
Rent, because it's so high.

2) What's the last place you had a romantic dinner?
Uh... Who the hell remembers?

3) What do you really want to be doing right now?
Getting a blowjob.

4) How many colleges did you attend?
One... Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland.

5) How many did you graduate from?
None.

6) Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
Because it was there.

7) What are your thoughts on gas prices?
Well, they're about half of what they were a year ago, so I guess that's OK.

8) First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
No alarm... got up when I was ready, which was about noon.

9) Last thought before going to sleep last night?
I don't remember.

10) Do you miss being a child?
Sometimes. I miss being taken care of and not having any responsibility.

11) What errand/chore do you despise?
Cleaning the toilet, I guess.

12) Get up early or sleep in?
Sleep in. I don't get up early unless I absolutely have to, which thankfully isn't very often these days.

13) Have you found real love yet?
Apparently not.

14) Favorite lunch meat?
Honey ham.

15) What do you get every time you go into WalMart?
I don't do WalMart.

16) Beach or lake?
Lake.

17) Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
Sometimes.

18) Sopranos or Desperate Housewives?
Desperate Housewives. I've never seen The Sopranos.

19) What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Prince William. I sort of have a crush on him.

20) Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
Depends how you define "crash". Worst was when I slammed on the brakes on an icy bridge and my car hit the curb, breaking both axles. I wasn't hurt, though, and no other vehicles were involved. Other than that, I've only been involved in several minor bumper taps.

21) Ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
No.

22) Ring tone?
None.

23) Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
I don't recall any particularly strange places. At work, maybe?

24) Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
San Francisco, natch!

25) Do you go to church?
Not anymore.

26) At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
A new relationship. I don't want to work...

27) How old are you?
48.

28) Do you have a go to person?
It seems like I really don't right now. Sadly, it seems like I can't talk to old friends anymore.

29) Are you where you want to be in life?
Not really. I'm in a rut right now, but it's a comfortable one.

30) Growing up, what were your favorite cartoons
Um... The Flinstones, The Jetsons, Tom and Jerry... You know, I really didn't watch cartoons all that much.

31) What about you do you think has changed the most?
I'm much more cynical and jaded than I used to be.

32) Looking back at high school, were they the best years of your life?
Hell, no. But I do miss those years sometimes.

33) Are there times you still feel like a kid?
Sometimes I'm like a little boy in an aging man's body.

34) Did you ever own troll dolls?
No.

35) Did you have a pager?
Yes, for a few years when I worked for Ameritech. I hated that thing.

36) Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager?
I didn't really have one... except the library, maybe, or church.

37) Who do you think impacted your life the most?
My father, but not really in a good way. I think he's the source of my fears of confrontation.

38) Was there a teacher or authority figure that stood out for you?
Miss Annie Lou, the church lady who taught me piano when I was a kid. I admired her godliness and her celibate lifestyle and wanted to be like her. As my loyal readers can see, that didn't quite work out, LOL.

39) Do you tell stories that start with "when I was your age"?
Yes, now I do. Geez, I've become my father!

3 May 2009 - And this week's Twitter updates....
Not many tweets this past week... at least partly because of my problems battling computer malware. But here they are:

● Trees budding, blossoming... tulips blooming... Spring has finally arrived in Chicago!

● Swine flu has hit my part of town. Should I be worried?

● Have called an uneasy truce with my computer. I think there are still some malware remnants but their activity seems suppressed for now.

● For the first time, saw someone in town wearing a face mask today... Maybe I should go get some before there's a run on them...?
