My brother was dying. We knew this because each year the same thing happened. Someone tried to kill him with a telephone cord tied around the neck. I was hoping that this year it migh actually happen (yeah, I know, nasty). But then as I go to pick him up it is my father that is waiting for me. My parents knew that if they told me that it was my Dad who was dying that I would not help him. So I picked him up and took him to Melbourne where I left him sitting on a park bench. By the time I was leaving it was night time and I was trying to decided what to get before I left. He had died and all I wanted was McDonalds.
I was walking down the street when I saw Jolene Barnes with her mother. They were arguing because they had gone to see a movie but the cinema was closed for an extended period. I just walked past and ignored them. I decided that I would get McDonalds in Shepparton on the way home.
When I got home I asked my mother why Dad had wanted to go to Melbourne to die. She said it was because he loved the football and he wanted to die near a football stadium. (My father hates foot ball. He'd be more likely to watch rugby.)
