25 Jan 2002 - Miss Kitty is pregnant and Strange Things found sticking out of dogs
A family had come into the kennel to board their animals for two weeks. They were a little apprehensive about leaving their beloved cat, Miss Kitty. Seems Miss Kitty had run away, was gone three days and finally wandered back home. They seriously wanted Miss Kitty to see the vet while staying with us to make sure she was alright after her ordeal. So we take Miss Kitty to the vet..everything was alright. Vet checked her heart, her ears..seeing as how he was at the front end..I got the rear end. Vet stated he was worried about a possible pregnancy for Miss Kitty, seeing that she was not spade on her chart. Being very famialiar with the rear ends of many animals..I calmly stated not a problem. Oh really, exclaimed the vet how would you know....Well, said I..Miss Kitty has a set of the biggest balls I have ever seen on a cat..He is now called Mr. Walnuts.
I told you all in the beginning I have see many weird, wacky and strange things..so thought I would share some things found on dogs, coming out of dogs, etc..etc. #1. Client brings in a really hairy cocker, he states dog stinks, been getting riper by the day. Have to say I agreed with him..the dog stank..Whew..Just wanted a bath on the dog..so I put the dog in the tub and began massaging shampoo and conditioner into its hair..I found a really big matted area near the dogs tail. So I got out my trusty comb and began working on it. After a few moments I found an eye. Just about pooped my pants when that eye came into view..gathered courage up and looked futher. The dog had apparently went on a fishing trip with its owners, because nestled deep in the dogs hair was a dead fish....source of the stink.
#2.Had a little toy poodle on my table, little sweetheart, never ever gave me any problems before. I started trimming under her belly when she jumped up and yelped. Well I was scared, I thought I had cut her, so I picked her up and looked. She had a fish hook imbedded in her stomach, just the end was sticking out. Ouchie, had to send her over to vets for surgery to get it out..she is fine now.
#3.Ever misplace a roll of paper towels, well the owners of this dog did. I had to give a potty break to a sweet yellow lab. Poor baby was constiapated. Made me wonder if dogs got hemerroids. Finally something popped out about two inches and it wasnt poop. So I grabbed it and yanked...perfect paper towel. Now comes the kicker..after I pulled that paper towel came out another popped out..and another..and another..until I counted 15 paper towels. Dogs butt looked like a kleenex box. vet checked him out..he is fine now.
Soo lots more to say but will save them for a slow day.

25 Jan 2002 - The Cowboy Way
To tell the truth folks I have had to adjust to having a cowboy around. Such helpful and mannerly men, stepping in to lend a hand. Yep, its about ole Tex again. Tex cant stand to see a little woman or"babe" as he call us, doing manly work by ourselves. At least twice a month I have to get the 12 foot long ladder out to change lightbulbs in the parking lot. Tex was afraid to climb the latter, so he helped by looking up. He was full of delightful commentary about my progress in changing the bulbs, that I finally said.."Will you get the hell away from me." After lightbulbs were all changed, I carried the ladder back to where we keep it and started to hang it back up, over my head..Here comes Tex,the too-big cowboy boots clomping and dragging as he hurried. "Babe, let me help, your gonna hurt yourself. Well, I wasn't gonna complain about the "Babe" word this time happy for the help. We get the ladder in the air, ready to slide it in place, when I felt it wobble. Tex, let go, ladder crashed into my head..I actually saw stars wearing little cowboy hats. Did I drop that on you? was the first thing out of Tex's mouth. No, Tex, I always do that. This last food delivery day I had a big order, lots of 40 pound bags, Tex sees me hauling these bags around, stocking shelves, "Babe, let me help you, so he goes and grabs up a bag...10 pounder, and walks ahead of me to get the door opened...I am right on Tex's tail to get this bag out of my arms, when Tex goes thru the door , catches it with his boot and slams it shut in my face. Landed on my rear with the 40 pound bag on top of me. Did I do that? Do you remember that character,Urkle, on Family Matters. Did I do that--Tex isnt as cute as that little boy with the puppy dog eyes. All the other women at work fear the clomp of those boots...clomp..drag....clomp..drag....means possible pain....possible brain melt, when that little cowboy decides to give advice. Their eyes pleading with me..Please tell the cowboy to ride off into the sunset....Where have all the cowboys gone?..I dont know, but I hope no more want to work at a dog kennel, or I just might sic the doggies on em all.
