I haven't written here in forever. This was due mainly because I was using the blog at myspace. I might use this one more however, mainly because everyone I know is connected with myspace, and although they could probably easily find this journal I'm not really concerned.I'm in a slump somewhat since graduating. I work at BJ's now (which is the same thing as Sam's Club really), I have been for the past few weeks so far. I don't know what to think of it really. I was kind of scared at first of course and now its just kind of "eh". I get to be a cashier, because everyone knows I like working with people (insert sarcasm). Its also weird because of all the bulk items and so on. I got my card today so tommorow I might go shopping for my mom since I'm picking up my paycheck anyways. The only employees who are friendly with me are the older middleaged women who work there and some of the guys are nice. Alot of the girls around my age and younger just ignore my existance.
Its strange while I'm working because it feels like I'm afloat in some ways. Like I'm hovering around and not really there.
You may want to know what I have been doing art wise. Well to tell you the truth, nothing really, atleast where painting is involved. I'm basically living downstairs with my grandma. Its already crowded with stuff here and my stuff (which I have alot of), and I have to still make room to do anything. I sleep my my grandma's livingroom in my bed surrounded by my stuff basically. Beyond my wall of stuff my dad sleeps on a fold out couch on the weekdays, because apparently he can't sleep upstairs in the stuffiness that is upstairs and he has work. So during these weekdays I have the pleasure of listening to my father snoring. It already takes me about an hour to fall asleep as it is.
So anyways I've been doing little projects here and there. I'm still stuck because its summer and I suppose my mind still thinks in terms of semesters eventhough I have graduated. Last summer I did alot of sewing and such and the commission but not really any of my own painting. So I did some silly photo thing with a box of messed up makeup outside and dead animals (ones the cats have killed)and documented them rotting. Well mainly it was a mummified mouse and a dead rabbit.
As you may know, I play Morrowind alot. I figured out how to take screen shots, and I also have a few mods which makes the characters have decent realistic faces and bodies. So I've been taking screenshots of the dead bodies and making weird offerings of objects in the game around them and having them interact with other bodies in the scene and use these as painting ideas. I might try using the construction set to do further things.
This kind of connects with what I did years ago using the program Poser to help me manipulate the body to render them in paint. The problem is that in Morrowind I have no control over where people and animals die and what position they die in, so sometimes it looks too odd for me to use. Also its funny that they have old faces as well as young faces, so there ends up being a 60 year old head on a 25 year old body. Hahaha! And sometimes the color of the head doesn't match the body so it looks odd.
I might post some images on My livejournal as it is my semi mostly art journal.
