It's a long story, but the upshot is that this ETFC journal has moved sideways from another site where it was sitting there doing nothing and not being updated. I decided that once it was out there and available to any reader it would give me a reason to update. There are gaps of course. This first entry will (or should) be updated over the next week to bring the reader up to date with events. But beware, for I intend to use all comments I find from ETFC fans on the net to spruce up the journal. That's why I am open to comments from you which you can post here. Tell me if this is a load of old bollocks ok?
Off we go then!

The ballot on the formation of Enfield Town Football Club ends on 22nd June in order that our overseas Enfield fans may vote. Anyway, it looks to me as if the result will be a big YES. The meeting last Thursday was encouraging enough. I got a massive Enfield Town crest at the meeting, which has been framed and now hangs above the fireplace. Georgborg gave it a respectful growl, though I wonder what the great man himself would have said at our troubles?

Tomorrow sees the formation of the new Enfield Town FC club. It's as certain that the Enfield EST members will vote for ETFC as, say, kids will vote for chocolate pud over vegetables. I'm off to see the votes being counted and, if one of Lazarou's cronies turns up I will set Georgeborg onto him/her. The ESL is calling us...

Enfield FC are dead. Long live Enfield Town FC! ETFC are now a reality after a 263 to 34 vote in favour of forming the new club. It wasn't quite hats thrown in the air at the announcement of the result, but I made do with a bottle of beer in a nearby pub in the afternoon. Tonight the Essex Senior League are expected to allow us into their league from the start of next season. A whole new world of Cockneys and Essex girls await...

It would appear that there are Enfield FC supporters who are a little peeved that Neil's Enfield Town Website and message forum has been set up in place of his old TGTLS Enfield one. Naughty boy! He's changed everything from Enfield FC to Enfield Town and wound a few people up in the process. Poor old Neil, trying to keep everyone happy and making a few enemies in the process. The website looks good though.

Only a week till Enfield Town play their first ever match. Meanwhile, Town have pinched a friendly fixture from Enfield when they take on Wealdstone FC. I cannot help being amused at that. Tonight, it's the Enfield Supporters AGM. I'm not going because I already know what is going to happen. Lots of arguing and counter-arguing between those for and against ETFC. There are even ex-Enfield supporters who now support other clubs who are getting involved and saying we should stay with Enfield FC to the end. Yeah - right. And where are they?
Big up to Lee Robson and his Unofficial Enfield Town Website Promising start, and I think he'll find his own identity once he gets familiar with updating his pages on a regular basis. We shall see.

Enfield Town are up and running! Last Tuesday I took GB along to Goldsdown road and whilst he was doing his thing behind the trees I caught up with old friends I haven't seen in ages. The beer flowed, and I bought a raffle ticket - such was my excitement at watching an Enfield back in the borough. It wasn't until afterwards that I discovered that it was to be a 'meat' prize. Guess who went how empty-handed without something to eat? He's not woofed at me since then...
For the record it was a 1-1 draw. 350 attended and that included a Barnet supporter. Fat and ugly... could have been anyone...

What a day! We turned up at Basildon United with our bells, our whistles and our balloons. Got puffed out just blowing them all up in the bar! Made a great start before being pegged back by our hosts, then up popped Bradley Quinn for a last gasp winner to cue mass celebrations behind the grass bank that reminded me of the likes of Dagenham and Hayes. Back into the bar to witness a bizarre internal fight between Basildon's own people and then a happy ride home to Enfield. That was my weekend.

Poor old Eton Manor were on the end of a 7-1 thrashing on their patch tonight. I never made the game, but kept up to date via the wonders of text messaging. I remember the days of waiting for a phone call after a game from a mate on the end of a public telephone. Those were the days, eh. Martin Chivers, The Big Match and recorded highlights - not live games. You used to be happy with live FA Cup finals and England internationals. But anyway I digress. Off to Southend Manor on Saturday for a bit of fun on the pier. Should be a hoot!

What a glorious night to be an Enfield Town supporter. 516 turned up for our first ever home game in the ESL (a 3-1 win against Leyton) and top spot is maintained. So many old faces again. Warm, and the beer was flowing well into the night. I even got caught short on the way home - happy memories from Southbury Road games - and when was the last time I saw a league game in the borough of Enfield and had to pee liberally down a dark alley on the way home? Not for a long time matey!

Town have gone from strength to strength and sit proudly at the top of the Essex Senior League. The crowds have flocked back to watch ETFC in the borough, and away from home the bars and grounds of Essex have been filled with the same travelling supporters of yore.
However, there is gloom in the household tonight. GB is not so happy at the events at Harrow Borough last night, where his namesake and mentor George Borg was hospitalised after Mark Pye unleashed a vicious and unprovoked attack on Borg after the match against Aldershot Town. Both involved in the Icis 1994/95 championship winning side for Enfield, I wish George Borg a speedy recovery.

Quite a disgusting evening watching the antics of certain Stansted players as they racially taunted our no 9 Danny Clarke. It was always going to be one of those instantly forgettable matches, with three conceeded penalties and a hatful of missed chances. That is - until Danny Clarke threw the ball away in a bit of a huff and bought some rather obnoxious and cruel monkey jibes behind his back from two players who should have known better. You can bet that this is not the last you will hear on the matter...

That brings you up till today. Leyton yesterday... if you think Stansted was bad, just you wait for what happened yesterday.
