Wealdstoned

Tuesday 8th January 2002
Some serious butt kicking of a Wealdstone style tonight. They came, they saw and went home with their tails between their legs. Actually, after all the build up to the game and the banter between the club supporters, the match lived up to expectations and we were treated to a right royal cup tie between two Middlesex sides looking to go all the way and win this thing.Danny Clarke was the goalscoring hero as ever. I'll gloss over that for now and go right to the main attraction: Andy Carter in goal for Wealdstone had a stinker of a match and earned himself some stick in the process, but had the grace to finish his night with a well timed goodwill message after the final whistle. This evening the throat is of course a little sore. Wealdstone supporters must get credit for the most noise made by visiting supporters at one of our home games. Seeing as the previous record was held by Saffron Walden Town and their bench plus a man with a dog when they came from two goals down to draw in the league cup, this is no surprise!
