So... here I was a noob in Second Life.... I would go around and ask people a lot of questions. I didn't know how to do very much and I wasn't afraid to ask. One of the first things I learned to do in Second Life was to go shopping! Spending money was fun, but I ran out of it quite quickly. I then learned that we got an allowance every Tuesday, and if I gave positive feedback to people, rating them positive, and if they rated me back I would get even more allowance every Tuesday. So I would go around and for 1 L$ I would rate people, and hope they would rate me back. Sometimes when Tuesday came I would have 1,000 L$ in allowance, just because I had such good ratings, and so many positive feedbacks. I was learning quickly that socializing in Second Life was the way to make money. That was until I learned about winning dance competitions! So, Striker, who was my best friend online now and my room mate in Second Life would teach me all there was to know about Dancing in Second Life, and how to win competitions, and we would pair up and go to events in Second Life and we would almost always win! It was a good day when we would win 3 events in a row, each event paying us anywhere from 250 L$ to 500 L$ and up per event! We were making some good income and I could afford to buy my avatar nicer things, like pretty skins, new dresses, new boots, earrings, and necklaces! My favorite thing to collect was hair. I loved all the cool hairstyles in the game. The worst thing for me was shoes. All of the shoes in the game seemed so tacky! I never liked wearing any of them. But, I settled on one style of boot and wore those... even though the designer of the boots was completely rude to me when I sent her a private message and asked her if she could possibly do the boots in another color. Talk about rude, she was snippy with me and cruel, and I thought she must have thought she was the best shoe designer on the game.... and maybe she was... for a time. Who knows.. but I knew one thing... I would never treat a customer the way she treated me. Never. And, if I ever lived to grow up and become a store owner in Second Life I would never ever be cruel to my customers. Well.. little did I know that at that time my little noobie avatar was about to meet someone who would change her avatar life forever....
