Yowsers. It's been nothing less than exciting watching these three dogs fight for their place in the pack. Pepai is absolutely the leader, and Keeper and Bandit are bumping heads....
Pepai put Keeper in her place yesterday, a bit over the top and violent, but all limbs were still intact after their scuffle. It was traumatizing for me, as Pepai outweighs her by a good fifty pounds easy.
I've got my work cut out for me with her, I suspect. She is 9 months old and doesn't know her basic commands like sit, stay, nor did she answer to her original name 'Chloe' which is why I figured we'd change it now while we start our obedience trials.
Daughter has been walking the new pup constantly, which is wonderful for both of them. She has taken ownership, so that means that I'll do the training and she can do the exercise.
I forgot just how much work it was, getting dogs to listen, not that Bandit ever does....but Pepai is an amazingly good dog. Thank goodness, because with her size she could be a headache if she wasn't so mannerly.
I went to the horse races again today, the same as every Saturday. My nephew's horses got a 3rd and a 4th, but it was enjoyable just the same. At least they placed....
Big Son's final grade 6 dance was last night, and oh my God, he was so frigging adorable I could have pinched the face off of him For those of you on my Facebook friends you can have a look at all the photos. I got all weepy, wondering where the time went. I was warned that these years fly by, but I wasn't close to being prepared. He's going to junior high in September. I can't believe it. And then he'll turn 13.....heaven help me.
I have the backyard to tackle tonight. I just spent an hour mowing and weeding the front yard. The backyard is full of doggy presents that have to be cleaned up, and then mowed, and then raked and more seeds put down before the rain comes tonight. The backyard grass is in awful shape, I don't see how we'll ever get it back to normal. I guess with, gasp, three dogs, I may have to bite the bullet and admit defeat.
Big Son is gone to the country with my brother, Daughter is gone to the movies with her friend and Ty is still not quite feeling himself yet. I did bring him up the outpatients at our hospital yesterday afternoon, but the whole episode at the hospital deserves an entry all it's own, and possibly a letter to our new premier. Jesus, Mary and Joseph....I was upset to say the least....
I bought a lotto ticket for tonight. $24 million. I'm going horse shopping when I win. And maybe a new jacket for myself.....Hubby wants his and hers motorcycles for him and I and Ty wants a cheeseburger. Big Son wants a 4 wheeler and a ride-on lawnmower and Daughter wants new flip flops and a few pairs of capris.
We are definitely easy to please.
Thanks for checking in.
