It was a really nice day today, the sun was shining, it was Saturday....a good day.My parents and mother-in-law arrived last night for lobster dinner. It was delicious. And so was the bottle of wine that acted as an appetizer beforehand. Thank God for food to sober up a head.
Big Son and his friend left to go to my parent's cottage with them for the weekend. Last time I checked in with them they were catching frogs and minnows and anticipating roasted marshmallows over a bonfire this evening. Country boys at heart.
Today we went to the first horse races of the season. My nephew has two race horses but only one was racing today, his newest, Silver Plated. He's beautiful....

It was a good day. Silver finished 5th, which was fine for his first race of the season. Next week he'll have both of his horse there. Yeah, another country boy....
Ty planted two beans for me for Mother's Day and made a card at school. I think we should change his name to Jack, and get ready to climb these beanstalks! They have sprouted up over 6 inches in the last 24 hours....is THAT normal? I'm waiting for the goose to lay the golden eggs!
And in other, not-so-pleasant news....Hubby could be out of a job in 11 more days.
Let the waiting and praying begin.
I'm feeling better about this layoff as opposed to the last. Financially we are in a better place, and the job prospects are more plentiful then they were in January when we went through this.
It is a bummer though. And it leaves a lot up in the air for now.
I've got a million things that I need to write, but my house feels a little too chaotic right now to sit and focus....so that will have to wait for a later entry.
Thanks for checking in.
