I'm alive. Thank you all for your concern.Ty had a mysterious case of the I-have-no-idea-what-it-was.....we've been calling it the 'vanishing weasels', since it wasn't really the measles after all. A boy at his daycare had the measles and Ty had all the symptoms, except his rash didn't migrate away from his face....strangest thing ever....
I heard back from the pet store, and after some subtle hinting that I was taking them to court I was offered a full refund on Pepai. It wasn't without me spitting venom at the computer screen while I smashed out the carefully chosen words on the keyboard...like "No, you will not be getting our dog back you imbecile...." or something like that. Anyway, apparently they now see things MY way, but who knows how long it will actually take to get the re-reimbursement...
Hubby and I did some more house-hunting. We found a monster of a house that practically needed a map to get through. It was waaaay too big for us, and didn't have the size lot that we were hoping for. Next we looked at a house just a few minutes up the road from where we live. It had 3.5 acres, a huge garage, a swimming pool and the house was cute as a button...but too small.
So, we have opted to stay put. We aren't going to find exactly what we are looking for at this point in time, so we've refinanced our mortgage to take advantage of the extremely low rates, and we have decided to do a bit of work to this place and live here for a few more years.
Our home feels like home, and every other place just didn't have the same vibe.
We will put in new windows and siding and add some other things that we've talked about, and if the time ever comes around where we want to move we will, but we've decided to eliminate the stress right now.
Hubby is packing to return to work in the morning. His trip home always goes too fast, and now that it's coinciding with my PMS week, he's almost running to catch his plane.....
I love that guy.
Sometimes I just am too hard to live with.
Our kids have the afternoon off school tomorrow. There was a fatal car accident Saturday morning, a girl from Big Son's class lost her 20 year old brother when he fell asleep at the wheel after he was the designated driver and dropped his friends all at home safely.
His mother was also a teacher's aide at the kid's school, so the school is closing for the afternoon to give everyone the opportunity to pay their respects at the funeral.
It's such a shame, and has made me count my blessings a hundred times over this weekend, especially on Mother's Day. They live around the corner from us, and it was hard to ignore the tragedy when we could see all the people showing up at the house.
Hubby needs the computer now, he's checking in online for his flight that doesn't depart for another 11 hours.......see? He can't wait to get away from me this month.
Thanks for checking in.
