Well, after putting up the good fight, we seem to have lost the war. For some reason, the timing isn't perfect, and there are other plans in store for us. So no house on the water for us this week....we gave it our all. It just wasn't meant to be, and I'm perfectly okay with that.
The seller wasn't crazy about having to wait for the sale off our house, even with the incentive of our offer being higher than the list price on the house...c'est la vie.
I had an exhausting day at work yesterday, one client booked immediately after another until the evening. I haven't had a day like that in months. Today and tomorrow are also booked later than I normally work, but not nearly as hectic.
No word yet from the pet store guy, who seems to think that everything will be okay with me once he emails me photos of Pepai's parents....yeah I too can search the web and download pictures of random dogs....silly boy....I'm ready, bring it on.
Something is on fire. Something is always on fire here lately, as long as it's not me and mine, we'll be okay. All these old school pyromaniacs believe that you have to burn the brush on your property in order to grow new grass. Seriously...that is truly what they believe. The result is constant wails from firetrucks and a heavy smoky haze all through our town. Twice already the skyline was dark and reminded me of out of control wildfires in California...
I think last year our tiny little fire station and volunteers responded to something like 600 brush fires in a 3 month period. Idiots.
There I go being all judgemental again....Lord, I'm trying...
My niece and her friends took my two dogs and her two dogs for a walk yesterday. They were all sweaty when they returned. I asked who was the worst one to walk, and of course it had to be one of mine...apparently Bandit threw in the white towel numerous times and just laid down, refusing to budge. That made me laugh. He has done that to Hubby a few times too.
Our summer-like weather from yesterday has left and been replaced by a windchill below freezing...what is up with THAT? How can you have a humidex one day and a windchill the next? The result is that my feet are freezing in my flip-flops but I am refusing to remove them in an attempt to will Summer to return through sheer sacrifice of my own body heat.
I got a wedding invitation to my cousin's wedding in July and it looks like Hubby will be home to attend with me. Yay! I missed him at the last wedding....
I guess I've stalled long enough. I've got to grab a bite to eat and head back to work for a busy afternoon.
Thanks for checking in.
