Happy Easter Eve!The kids should have been tucked in over an hour ago, but, well, there's no schedule here today....
Hubby, I was going to say and I, but really it's just been Hubby, has been laying new laminate floor throughout our upstairs since yesterday. Jesus. It's not been fun. Our house is 76 years old and the unlevel floors do nothing to hide it's age. The old owners had put down some cheap low-pile carpets upstairs, and after living with it for two years it was definitely time for a change.
The upstairs is refreshed now and the floors still have the new, clean shine. It's lovely.
Hubby's knees are killing him, and we still have Big Son's bedroom left to do. We thought we bought enough to finish our room in the basement, but I don't think it's going to happen. Not this weekend anyway. There was more waste than we anticipated, the old small rooms and crooked walls caused headaches...
We bought all new baseboards too, so now everything will match.
I treated myself to a bottle of wild blueberry wine tonight, made right here in Nova Scotia....it is not sweet but not dry, and it's going down smoothly....I think I'm liking it muchly. Funny, I'm buying wine and I have more than 50 litres sitting right here at my feet that we haven't sweetened and bottled yet.
That's a project for another day.
Today I invested $40 in a Divacup...it's the first time in a long time that I've been actually waiting for my period to start. I want to test this thing. It's not intimidating at all...I'll keep you all informed, because I'm sure you all can't wait to hear about my bathroom tales....
Alright...the Easter Bunny is about to pass out from yummy red wine. If I don't get these kids all to bed there are going to be some disappointed babes in the morning....wouldn't THAT be something?
