Success is relative:
It is what we can make of the mess we have made of things.

~T. S. Eliot~

22 Mar 2009 - Sweet Sunday
Today we drove out the mountain road, over the mountain, and into town where we spent some time strolling the isles of the local antique market. I found a lovely stack of dishes in my favorite shade of yellow which I am going to use for decoration in my kitchen. $ .99 cents for 5 matching pieces...2 bowls, 3 saucers, one tea cup. I will post a picture to go with this post later as my camera is outside in my van at the moment.

I also found a nice biscuit tin from the 80s which was priced right and in great shape. $1.49. (picture to post later)

Also an old farming magazine from 1961 with great advertising pics and a section of old recipes. Several ads for John Deere tractors, very colorful. I like looking at old ads. A fun way to learn history and I enjoy the graphics and colors from that era. $1.49.

Well, the day was nice and mild. We walked up into the mountain. First I have walked in the mountain for a long time. Hard to believe when I love hiking so much.

Tomorrow is my daughter's birthday. Time sure flies. I bought a dvd set of Fresh Prince of Belaire for her from ebay last week. Brand new and a great low price. (What did I ever do before Ebay?) Hard finding anything like that locally and she is a huge fan of Will Smith. Now she only needs one more season to have all 4. My daughter loves the 80s. Of course she was not born yet to enjoy living through them. All those big hair fashions, wild clothes, disco...etc, I guess it just fascinates her. So different from today. My other two children remember the 80s very well.

My attempts to get back to stopping by deardiary have been fairly successful so far. I am catching up with old favorites and finding new ones to enjoy too. I stayed up late last night reading here at deardiary.

Have a great week.
