It is what we can make of the mess we have made of things.

21 Mar 2009 - ---my day in review, Saturday---
Sitting here listening to the dog snore and thinking back over my day. Pebbles, Kitty, and I spent the afternoon together. Watched some episodes of King of Queens on dvd, caught up on daily happenings, worked on the computer some, and basically had a very nice low key day.
It was too chilly out today for me. I walked around the garden looking to see what all was coming up. It looks like I will have a lot of iris this year. So far, the peonies have not started up. My roses have really multiplied and it looks like I will need to do some digging and transplanting to keep them under control.
I want to plant a lot of annuals this year. Zinnias, marigolds, and petunias. I also have plans for putting in a row of red raspberries. Just waiting for the first nice warm day to spend the whole day raking, digging, and planting. I did order a book through the library of Martha Stewart's gardening month by month. It came in yesterday and we drove in to pick it up along with a stack of other books and dvds we had ordered. Martha's book looks very informative but I barely recognized her on the cover. This book was printed in 1991 which does not seem that long ago to me. But, I guess it has been awhile. My daughter thinks Martha looks better now than she did back then. Well, I think time has a way of making changes in everyone regardless of one's station in life. At any rate, I am eager to get started gardening this year. WE plan on doing a lot of vegetables, too.
It is hard getting back into writing but I am determined to make the effort. It sure was nice to see some of my favorite diarists leaving nice comments on my entry yesterday. Deardiary has always been a nice community.
Thanks for stopping by and hope your weekend is extra special.
