It is what we can make of the mess we have made of things.

21 Oct 2006 - County Wide Festival *Saturday* October 21, 2006
Today was absolutely gorgeous! A perfect fall day! The county wide festival with the huge tractor parade was a great success!
Once again we motored across the mountains to the county seat with Bobby driving and my sister Norma as co-pilot and enjoyed all the festivities, from a tractor parade to flea markets, yard sales, bluegrass music, pet parade, petting zoo, and of course tasty treats along the trail. We picniced in Waterfall on Mom's home fried chicken, homemade potato salad, my sister's baked ham sandwiches, lemon squares, lots of chips, cheese puffs, pop, etc. And enjoyed the view of the surrounding mountains decked out in glorious shades of red, orange, yellow, green, and brown. I bought a pasta cookbook for 50 cents and some vcr tapes, 2 for a dollar, 3 for 5 dollars, and some one dollar each. Hard to believe it is over for the year already, the day went too fast! We saw my brother stargazzer and family. Also my sister Bell and family. What a nice treat!
Here are some links from other years. This year was the 33rd year. I have been attending on a regular basis since my daughter Kitty was just a baby.
Here is a picture of the road I travel to get to town taken just the other day with my trusty 14 dollar digital keychain camera. My picture does not do the road justice though as it is many time more beautiful than pictured. Cascading whirlwinds of leaves added to our enjoyment.
Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting with me. I hope to make more entries in the near future. Take care and have a great Weekend!
