26 Aug 2006 - my birthday in review
I turned 55 years old yesterday and guess what? It was not so bad... the day started nice and cool and continued to be nice and mild all day. We enjoyed a wonderful chicken dinner around noon, fried chicken, texas fries, macaroni salad here at home...yum , yum. along with ginger ale and homemade peanut butter fudge. My daughter treated me to a movie I had never seen before, Cheaper by the Dozen with steve martin. We watched it on the VCR in the living room during the afternoon. It had a few really good scenes, especially the one where steve is talking on the phone to his wife while hiding in the closet. The kids and the dog sang me "happy birthday" while attempting to do the hussle in unison. I have a very talented family, LOL! In the evening we went up to Mom's and visited for a nice cup of tea. I received some really nice cards via mail and email. Also some really great presents. Mostly I took it very easy throughout the day and enjoyed each and every moment. 55 is a good number and I am hopeful the year ahead will be the best ever.
26 Aug 2006 - lazy day and online quizzes
so i have been sitting here reading diaries and sipping cold ginger ale. deliberately getting a late start on a beautiful day.

I need to go into town this morning if I can get myself moving. I want to pick up some big boxes from the dumpster at the dollar store and start sorting and cleaning. I plan on having 3 main boxes. box 1 will contain trash, box 2 will contain stuff for my yard sale, box 3 will be stuff i want to keep. I would love to start the fall more organized and clutter free.
Also, I have about 200 iris to plant along the driveway. I dug up some beds if iris that were getting too full and divided them, sold the extras, and now have the remainders to put back in a new location. I dream of a driveway lined in blooming iris. But, what a job!!!
No wonder I am taking so long to get started this morning!
