I have spent the morning getting caught up with some work inside. It is extremely hard for me to be inside on such a beautiful day. In my garden I have late tomatoes growing. I am very eager for that first ripe tomatoe. I did have cherry tomatoes but they were planted late and only offered a few tiny tasty morsels of delight. they were yellow or orange. i bought my plants too late and paid too much. most of them died. i did buy some from the flower lady and they are doing great!!! no sure what kind but they look like regular tomatoes.
i researched some last night and found out the plant that tries to take over my rock garden each year is "dogbane" , a type of milkweed. i am still researching as time permits.
my bog garden plan has not been fulfilled either. i am still looking for some type of kid's wading pool to sink in the ground to use as the container for my cattails.
also still working on removing the rock garden and making a nice flat border out along the field. it has been too hot to accomplish much. i did dig up the ribbon grass and move it out along the road bank. winston loves to sit among the brown "in shock" strands , perhaps dreaming he is a huge lion on the savannah? *smile* at any rate , he is seen sitting in my newly made ribbon grass border anytime we drive up the lane. back in the rock garden little patches of ribbon grass have grown back and look very very pretty. it must be very hardy and very hard to eliminate from an area. it is doing so much better than what i dug and transplanted, thinking i had removed it entirely from the rock garden. next year my road bank should be beautiful with ribbon grass and with winston. *smile*
i have more to write but have to get off and fix lunch. i have alot of plans for the day but the clock keeps racing so fast I can not keep up. it is exhausting racing the clock anymore. *smile*
thanks for the comments, dear readers. they make my day.
take care and enjoy the day. thanks for stopping by.
p.s. my new background is made from a pics from the huge sunflower my brother stargazzer grew this summer. his sunflowers stood over 15 feet tall.
