8 Feb 2010 - Dear reader, I quit that job
|
|
Today, I tendered my resignation. It was a bit anti-climatic. Mariko held herself back a bit - there were hints at some great tempest of rage at me for daring to do this but someone had prepared her. Thinking about who it might be just pisses me off. But it's done. I feel so much lighter. Aaaaand, I have a new job lined up. It's out in Mobara. They're just starting a preschool program there and the head teacher seems very keen to have me on board. I like someone being keen to have me on board. It will be four days a week, which means less pay but it means more time and time has always meant more to me than money. It's just finding a balance between the two. Oh, this is all such a relief. I'm getting out.

I'm feeling

We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.
- Tom Stoppard
