It’s been a golden weekend. The wind has disappeared, the sun has returned. We spent much of the weekend in the garden, planting (two more plum trees, two more guava bushes, two roses and a few perennials), pruning, and (in Mr Kimi’s case) ripping up a brick path that hadn’t quite worked (he’s going to re-do it better). I made a special cassoulet for dinner, with confit duck added to the usual ingredients. We had a Madiran with it, and it was delicious. We stretched and re-shaped my needlework a couple of weeks ago, and today Mr Kimi finished making a frame for it and hung it. I’m very pleased with the result:
After leaving this curled up on a shelf for the last few years, it’s great to have it finished at last.
