On January 7-10, the company I'm working with joined the Toys Fair'08. Buyers from all around the world flew to HK to search for what they were looking for - products for children. I was nervous and anxious in the beginning because I was not familiar with what I supposed to do. My working experience and knowledge of this industrial was still shallow. Dressing up professionally, I did feel more confident with myself. The first buyer came into our booth, walked around to look at our products. My throat was dried as I tried to say 'Good Morning', I was very nervous.
For those years I was in Canada, shouldn't I be comfortable with English speaking or with English speaking people? Wasn't I in Canada trainned to be familar with multi-cultural setting such as this? However, this was a multi-cultural business setting, and that I wasn't familiar with. I could only try my best to offer my help to the buyers with limited knowledge.
Amazingly, I found it very fun to be in this Toys Fair. I met many people around the world, I got to see different personalities and characteristics. I also got to meet people from the next booths, although we didn't talk much. We smile alot to each other though, I especially like that French lady she's really nice.
Now, I'm looking forward to our next Toys Fair in April. Looking forward to have more fun, I do want to meet more people again. Thanks the Lord~
