8 Jul 2002 - Mprov: Cruel Intentions
Pairing: Joey and Kevin
Words: frizzy; bruised; decode; laddie

Kevin sat in his chair and watched the deer picking its way across his front yard. It was nice, sometimes, living in the country. Enjoying the golden glow the sunlight gave to the grass -- he really needed to get it cut -- the cool breeze through the window, the spray of gravel as a car barreled into his drive too fast.

He raised his eyebrows, and watched as Joey Fatone got out. Interesting.

Kevin went downstairs, and opened the door. "What can I do for you on this beautiful summer evening?"

Joey stood on the other side of the screen. "Is JC here?"

"No."

"Then I want to talk to you."

Kevin shrugged. "Come in." He led the way to the kitchen, and got the pitcher of iced tea out of the refrigerator. Poured himself a glass, and held the pitcher up to Joey in offer. Joey shook his head. "What did you want to talk about?"

"We need to talk about what you're doing with JC."

"I'm not--"

"I don't want to hear it. I know you're involved. I came out here because I wanted to make sure you understand not to mess with him."

"I wouldn't--"

"Because JC's fragile. He's not like the other guys. Lance, Chris, Justin -- they know how to take care of themselves. But JC, he puts his whole heart into things. And maybe it's not real easy to tell, but under that frizzy hair is a good head. Not too smart with his relationship choices, but good nonetheless. And I don't want to see him get emotionally bruised by someone like you."

Kevin was amused. "Someone like me? What's wrong with me?"

"Married, terminally straight, and uptight."

There was a high-pitched giggle. A familiar high-pitched giggle. "Oh, Kev's married, but he's not straight, and he's definitely not uptight."

"Chris?"

Chris walked in and wrapped his arms around Kevin, biting playfully at his shoulder. "In the flesh, laddie-boy. It's really cute of you to come down and ask Kevin what his intentions are."

"I-- but JC..."

"Howie's the one fucking JC," Kevin said helpfully. "I would've told you, but you wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise."

"Or lengthwise, from what I heard," Chris added. "Still, it was really sweet of you, Joey. I can't wait to tell the guys that big daddy Joey will be interrogating all of their dates from now on."

"Not all, just JC's, because he..." Joey sighed. "I should just get out while the getting's good, shouldn't I?"

"Or we could have sex in front of you," Chris said.

"No, we can't."

Chris pouted.

"I'll give him ten seconds to get out of the house, then I'm going for the shotgun."

"Fair enough." Chris waved to Joey. "Bye!"

Joey got.

Kevin got busy. He wasn't so old that he didn't know what to do with Chris climbing on him, or so clueless as to be unable to decode the meaning of a guy stripping in his kitchen.

Hot. Sex. Now. And the sunlight looked even better on Chris than it did on the grass.
