I suffered through the first week's semi-finals. Those were so bad, I decided to skip the shows and watch videos online only of the contestants I was mildly interested in this week.I'll cut right to the chase: No reviews this year.
There's only one contestant worth following as far as I can tell, and that's Crystal Bowersox. Which means she probably won't win. And without Paula there, there's not even anyone snark-worthy on the judges' panel. Simon looks bored in his last year on the show, Kara just grates hanging all over him, Randy is as predictable as ever, and Ellen DeGeneres isn't half as funny as I thought she'd be. Zzzzzzz.
I can't bring myself to suffer through this year's crop of sorry wannabes just to listen to one person week after week. I just can't. I'll listen/watch Crystal's performances the next day, and I'll tune in on the night that Adam Lambert makes an appearance (he's confirmed to show up, but it probably won't be until April, since he's doing press tours in Australia/Asia/Europe now). Besides, I've got other things I can do with my evenings. Just ask BassPlayer. ;-)
So for those of you waiting for reviews - sorry. It's not going to happen this year. I'm finally getting a life. LOL, and hooray!
