6 May 2009 - American Idol: A clarification As I explained to SWAM in an e-mail, what attracts me to Adam is not necessarily his looks (except for his eyes - I'm a sucker for those eyes) as it is his singing and performance skills. I've always been attracted to tenors who can go from tender to all-out bombastic. Add to that his politeness and overall nice-guy demeanor - what regular viewer of Idol didn't go "awwwwww" when Allison hopped into his arms and he said she was like his little sister? - and you've got a classy rock star in the making. He's never talked back to the judges, he's always acknowledged the band and the people who contributed to his songs, and he always seems genuinely grateful to be on that stage. Now, I'm sure that off-camera he's probably got some quirks that would turn me off. But what he's showing in public is very, very nice. And yes, I know there are questions about his sexuality. It doesn't matter to me. What attracts me to him is that he's very good at what he does AND he's a gentleman.
